As you can see, Lestat can read peoples lives (ed can read basic thoughts). Cullen vamps can break like ice. Lestat cannot die (as you can see in the movie). Vampires are immortal and can only be sealed or stowed away until resurrection (like how he was in the waters with the alligator/crocodile). Just all to say in general, i too agree that the twilight franchise is a poor excuse for a vampire/mythology story. its stupid, poor in depth and story as well the franchise itself is already dying.

@XxPunkerkittyXx dracula isn't the original. stoker ever confessed that joseph sheridan le fanu's carmilla (i have read both dracula and carmilla and can tell you that although i enjoy dracula.... carmilla is better) inspired his book dracula. carmilla came out in 1872- that's 25 yrs before bram stoker came out w/ dracula. before carmillla there's : samuel taylor coleridge's christabel (1797), polidori's the vampyre (came out in 1819), and feast of blood varney the vampire (came out in 1845)

People will hate me for this, but actually it makes senses to compare Twilight to IWTV. Both novels challenged the current times' view of vampires. The difference is that Anne Rice made it work, Meyer just made a pile of shit out of her wacky idea. The characters, the story, everything in IWTV is beautiful, BUT it still is different. The same way how we think sparkling vampires suck, people at the time thought "What?! We can't use crosses to kill these guys? What a wacky idea."
