How do you download an azw book from Amazon when it says "you don't have a kindle device registered"? The only way I could get a free book to test was to install their "kindle for pc" app, but I can find no trace of the downloaded file! ACK! Kindle books are cheaoper than those for my nook and I'm annoyed now.
I use Calibre on my iMac, I use the upload to device button. The upload to device button displays in Calibre in the top middle of the panel when your Kindle is connected to the computer.
Another way to upload the file is to connect your Kindle to the computer, double click the Kindle icon and then drag the created MOBI file of the book to the "document" folder. To find the MOBI file, I do a Find File search from the main desktop for the name of the book. then drag and drop.
Hello Roxanne. Thank you for this video. I have a MAC and know I have to transfer my books to Mobi. Thanks to you, I now know how to do this. HOWEVER....I can't figure out how to get it into my actual kindle! I have tried to drop and drag with no avail. When I do this, it says, "Books with the same title as the following already exist in the database. Add them anyway?" But when I turn on my Kindle, I see no books! HELP! ; (
Thanks a lot

I believe this program is pronounced "Ca-Lee Bray" after the latin word for book or library: "libre". Thanks for the excellent instructions!

@SunSop66 It's distorted, turning the speaker down will just make it quieter but no less distorted
