  • Can you or anyone tell me how to portion the recipe properly so I know how many lip balm tubes a specific batch can make?? Is this a trial and error sort of thing? Also, how much flavored oil should be added to a specific batch (weight or percentage?) Thanks!

  • i love your video!!!!

  • nice!! :'D "aborner"!!!!!! :D

  • I don't add essential oils, as they can be drying...I add cocoa butter, as I love the texture

  • @bowler8 Sweet cool tip !!!

  • hi make one adding colors to it

  • awsome :) im promoting organic products too :)

  • Thank you for this. I've been wanting to make my own lip balm for so long but I have found others have made it seem too complicated and/or too expensive. I have a local health food store where I can find a plethora of oils and a craft store to get the beeswax. I'm so inspired now. I will be able to save so much money making my own as me and my son both can't seem to go without lip balm. It gets pricey to buy organic brands. I'm so excited to do this. Thanks again! :)

  • is it bad to use vaseline(petrolium jelly) on my lips ?

  • @afrotasticcurls Yeah, petrolium jelly, petrolatum or any petroleum derived ingredients will actually dry your skin out (not moisturize) and have llinks to cancer and other harmful health conditions. Try using shea butter or even a little olive oil if you don't have a natural lip balm on hand

  • I tried it with almond oil and it came out great too. You can also add 1 teaspoon of honey to the mix right after you take it off the heat.

  • @isabeats Thanks for posting. That sounds great. I am going to try that :)

  • love it!!!!!!

  • thank you very much, you are saying very important things that unfortuntely people don't know!

  • @glamology thanks I'll try that great video buy the way :D

  • @soccerNySsA thank you:)

  • Where can I get coconut oil in texas ?

  • @soccerNySsA you can buy this at any natural food store.

  • i didnt know vaseline was bad :/

    i totally wana try this!!

  • @Muminah92 It's not necessarily bad, but it is a skin protectant and does not let anything In or Out of the skin...It's like a plastic barrier...So if you already have hydrated skin and lips, it can protect and keep the moisture in that is already there, but it cannot moisturize or let any other moisturizer into the skin/lips....that's how it can dry skin out ....by not letting it absorb moisture.

I was exaggerating a bit by saying it's terrible...but it definitely will not moisturize.

  • I'm so glad to find someone who isn't slathering petroleum (Vaseline) all over their lips as a homemade gloss. I can't believe people still don't know how terrible that is. Thanks.

  • @YellowCheapers your welcome

  • Yeah let me just whip out my beeswax I have lying around in my pantry

  • @fluffykqueen333 lol ya I guess not everyone has that lying around but you can buy this at any natural food store.

  • make sure to get a guide book on oils...some companies have free booklets at the store where theyre sold..bcuz lips are a sensitive area. some books say how many drops of each oil is good, and where to apply, or ingest.

  • Can I sub Jojoba oil?

  • @CuriousMortalGhost13 If you want to sub the coconut oil you need another oil that is solid at room temperature (coconut, palm, mango butter, shea butter, etc.)

  • Thank-you.Do you know where to get mango butter from?

  • @CuriousMortalGhost13 Most things can be found at the grocery store or health food store.
