Can you or anyone tell me how to portion the recipe properly so I know how many lip balm tubes a specific batch can make?? Is this a trial and error sort of thing? Also, how much flavored oil should be added to a specific batch (weight or percentage?) Thanks!
Thank you for this. I've been wanting to make my own lip balm for so long but I have found others have made it seem too complicated and/or too expensive. I have a local health food store where I can find a plethora of oils and a craft store to get the beeswax. I'm so inspired now. I will be able to save so much money making my own as me and my son both can't seem to go without lip balm. It gets pricey to buy organic brands. I'm so excited to do this. Thanks again! :)
what happens if u add olive oil honey and brown sugar with bees wax and coconut oil in the microwave instead of stove an do u have to put it in a glass container? plz reply fast thx
i used vaseline and spearmint essential oil cos im cheap like that and i couldnt find beeswax anywhere; where do you find beeswax at besides expensive health food stores?
@ahnettSay thanks :) Yes, you can go to my website mintandberry Im Canadian and sell ferro cosmetic's they are the best I have found. that dont contain nasty ingredients but still look fun and fresh
@bkzg3mz718 try looking online for a beeswax candle website like small bones for the coconut oil I use a brand from loblaws in the organic section. anywhere the sells natural food if you are in the states try trader joes
could you also use a double boiler to melt the beeswax and coconut oil or does the pyrex cup have to go into the water as shown in the tutorial? also, could the mixture also be poured into a round tube for easy travel? could it also be poured into a round metal tin?

@afrotasticcurls Yeah, petrolium jelly, petrolatum or any petroleum derived ingredients will actually dry your skin out (not moisturize) and have llinks to cancer and other harmful health conditions. Try using shea butter or even a little olive oil if you don't have a natural lip balm on hand
@Muminah92 It's not necessarily bad, but it is a skin protectant and does not let anything In or Out of the skin...It's like a plastic barrier...So if you already have hydrated skin and lips, it can protect and keep the moisture in that is already there, but it cannot moisturize or let any other moisturizer into the skin/lips....that's how it can dry skin out ....by not letting it absorb moisture.
