As with one or two other commenters - I THINK I may have been at this run at Shoreline. I know we did the Frost in May '89, Cal Expo run in August, and also the Greeks a few weeks later. It would have been *madness* to do all that while living in Seattle... No? Maybe it was the September-Oct Shoreline shows we did that year...
There was nothing in the entire world like a Grateful Dead show at Shoreline! I've seen them all over the USA and Mountain View just emanated the Dead's energy. Jerry may be gone, but his legacy is the music he gave to his fans and God I love him for that.
@junkyfungus I felt the same way about Winterland in SF. once they tore that down it was all about Greek shows for me ;-) Seated shows have always been hard to deal with after being so spoiled at Winterland ;-)
I remember being at this show, my mate could see a mist of energy floating above the crowd, those who were into the music were tapped into it like a tube going directly into the minds. what a night!
I had a great time then as i am now
thanks warrior
The dead were not best best at what they did... They were the only ones doing it! Full risk with love!
I think I was at this show. Well dam, there were a few shorelines. I'll try and remind myself to remeber. I rember one night after Mighty Quinn everyone started singing the brady bunch song. That was the only time I heard that shit at a show.
My first thought when Bobby starts talking?....SIT DOWN FAST so ya get a spot on the ground!!..heheh...sorry, old Winterland flashbacks...gotta love em ; )...Thanks again for the post!
My favorite Deal ever. Key is to play as loud as possible while driving in your car! Awesome.

Best use of a video technology for the win! This vid brings a little of the dead magic right into my own computer.
Thx Warrior, youtube, whomever recorded it and the Grateful Dead.

Best word to describe this "Deal" - SCORCHING. Love Weir's goofy smile . . . trying to act all stoic - but cant'!
