Glory!!! I'm posting this as a praise report today...my mom has been battling cancer for the 2nd time in her life...has undergone the removal of her R kidney and 4 rounds of direct-target chemo. She just called with the WONDERFUL news that prayers have been answered...NO residual cancer cells remain!!!
Mark Lowery was one of my mothers favorite singers, when she passed away 2 years ago, 3 of his songs were played at her funeral by her request, He is such a wonderful man...
This is an awesome group with powerful singing voices. God has truely blessed these folks to be a blessing to to the world in music. Phelps is a Power House. May God continue to bless you all and your families.
Should listen to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's with his brother Skippy, and their group they formed in the early 70's. Search Youtube for He Touched Me, Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau. It's a very good version as well as shows their faith in those days.
I love the Gaither Singing. They are so inspirational. And the light of GOD shines upon their faces as they sing. Their faces are radiant as they sing GOD's words & words such as they sing can only come from a pure sought after heart. Their singing fills my heart with such joy & brings happy tears to my eyes. I hope this is just a little taste of what heaven is going to be like. I imagine the Angels in Heaven to sound like The Gaithers
@Valerian1 to continue, if you feel God has called you to sell all and live this way and you are obedient then well done and more power to you but don't presume that everyone has the same calling as you. In fact many wealthy people use their wealth to promote God's kingdom and support the poor with ON-GOING support. They are able to serve more because they continue to give. Jesus death was God's plan , NOT the rule for everyone. He was the Lamb of God but will return as the LION of Judah.
This song brings back so many memories. Just wish I had a dollar for everytime I sang that song. It was one that Dr. Clark and I use to sing when ever we were invited to churches. And YES, HE DID TOUCH ME!!!!

@Valerian1 I believe that most of what you said is based upon a fallacy. The Instruction to sell all and give to the poor and follow Him was to the rich young ruler and Jesus was testing him because He knew his heart, that his money was more important. Jesus did not say this to everyone. In fact Lydia was a follower of Jesus and helped support Him and the disciples and she was a seller of Purple which was a very expensive material ergo she was a wealthy woman. Job was wealthy as was Abraham.

No. To be a christian means to love Christ above everything else including one's properties and this means supporting God's work through your money. A rich person (or anybody else) who is a christian should be ready to be stripped of everything and still worship God.
I know what it is to be burdened by guilt and shame and then my savior came along and truly touched me and made me whole. It is something only my savior can do.

your really behind lol russ taff hasnt been in the group since 2004 he was only with the group for three years. after he left marshall hall replaced him and was the baritone for the group for four years. the group is now bill gaither, mark lowry, david phelps, michael english, an wes hampton (who has served as their tenor since 2005 when david phelps had left)
You can't seem to make up your mind on how long Russ Taft was with the group. One email said 1 year. The next (this one) says 3 years. Maybe I'll have to go research something you're behind on. LOL

Well, this was some time ago. David Phelps doesn't have that hair style now. Mark Lowry is no longer with Gaithers. Nonetheless, the Gaither Vocal Band does excellent harmonies and a great job.

It is wonderful to hear songs like this that marked my childhood.
It makes me go back and remember the prayer meetings in my local church. It was a tremendous move of the Holy Spirit, we felt the touch of God's power here in Brazil!

What a wonderful song! I get chills just listening to it. This is the Gaither Vocal Band at its best. And the words to this song are so true. Jesus truly touched me and made me whole.

thx for the update. Guess I am a little behind on the GVB. You didn't mention Russ Taft. So is the group now Russ Taft, Michael English, Mark Lowry, Bill Gaither and David Phelps?

your really behind lol russ taff hasnt been in the group since 2004 he was only with the group for three years. after he left marshall hall replaced him and was the baritone for the group for four years. the group is now bill gaither, mark lowry, david phelps, michael english, an wes hampton (who has served as their tenor since 2005 when david phelps had left)

You can't seem to make up your mind on how long Russ Taft was with the group. One email said 1 year. The next (this one) says 3 years. Maybe I'll have to go research something you're behind on. LOL

the 1 year was a typo. in my head i was saying three years but i typed 1 year lol so i removed the first comment and corrected it. you can research if you dont believe me but you will find all i have told you. i am all knowing when it comes to the gaither vocal band. ask anyone lol

@hoover4000 With all due respect, perhaps you could have been a little more gracious when you answered kddavison's question about the GVB. Not everyone has your depth of knowledge regarding all of its members :*)) I recently stumbled on your You Tube page and have been enjoying the many, many videos you have posted. with much appreciation for your efforts. I knew nothing about the Gaithers until I came here, so I have many questions also. I'll do some research on the net to look for answers.

Well, this was some time ago. David Phelps doesn't have that hair style now. Mark Lowry is no longer with Gaithers. Nonetheless, the Gaither Vocal Band does excellent harmonies and a great job.

a little behind with the news eh lol mark lowry, david phelps,and michael english all came back to the vocal band at the beginning of this year. marshall hall and guy penrod left, so theres now 5 members of the GVB. AND, david does still have a hairstyle kind of like this one

This is the song that in 1983 I was listening to on a record over and over again, praising God in my heart, and suddenly got the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Great waves of LOVE just poured into me and flooded through me. I walked around on clouds for weeks after that (spiritually speaking.) It is REAL, folks!!!!
