I don't know why they got rid of this show. We live in a shallow world and these people's quality of life were greatly improved after being made over. Why give reconstructive surgery to people who become deformed if it's shallow? Life is hard enough, it's up to the individual to make it a bit easier if they want to. I read somewhere that they stopped doing the extreme makeovers because they were bringing a woman onto the show and after talking to all the proffesionals they decided it was way too much work to be done for the time frame they had so they sent her home and shortly after she killed herself.

Blake and I recently celebrated our 8th anniversary. He made the "pretty girl" comment because he didn't recognize me and he didn't know what to expect. He is a wonderful husband! He loved me regardless of my looks; the wedding was planned prior to the makeover. I have no regrets; the experience was wonderful! Dr. Perlman was a kind, considerate and obviously talented doctor.
