If the Stones would have stayed a five piece with a pianist sometimes, they would have been the best. Horns on studio and some live could have been cooler than adding a horn section to the entity.
its nice to see two of the most influential bluesguitarists play together im a fan since the old days....... visit me on Johan Jegenberg youtubesite see ya around...rock`n`roll on ya all
Never seen Ronnie sing lead before and in fact its been ages since seeing him sing backup with Keith. The Stones have relied on back up singers and a horn section since the early 80's.
Ronnie, Mick and Keith all together would be awesome. Alot of guitar weaving could occur. Bring back Bill, it's just not the Stones with out him. I'm not dissing Daryl, he's a great bass player. But he's not a Stone.
Taylor has always been one of my favorite slide players. It's amazing that to this day he still has that instantly identifiable sound. One note and you know it's him. It's in the hands...
like this, they should do the next world tour, rough ronnie and smooth sliding mick, it would gonna make dreams cum true!! and billy on the bass for celebrating it.....aaawrighhhhhtttttt !!
@202pdiddy - No I don't expect a slap bass solo on every song - just some rythmnic qualities that help the tune drive and swing a little. There's loads of room for a decent bass player to add to the rythmn and overall feel - none of which is displayed by Bill Wyman in the least!
@klixxie It's a slow Jimmy Reed song they're playing here. A simple, unobtrusive bass line is exactly what this song demands. Wyman can't swing? Take a listen to Exile On Main Street, or for that matter any of the early Stones records.
I love Keef, but if Ronnie were to stay and Taylor were to replace him, I'd go with that!! As long as Taylor's back in the game, I don't care who goes.
Mick T has quite a story to tell as he played with the Rolling Stones in there halcyon heyday - in other words when they were at there best.Looking forward to the chapter on his heartache and regrets - hope he didn't have many or any.stay just the way you are.
@mcgurkryans You said it! hadn't seen any pic of him since the 70's... And remember. he made his first class with John Mayall's bluesbreakers... He was raised on blues.
@hassledguy - Yeah, easily. But Jagger and Richards don't want Taylor involved. Even Ronnie Wood is friends with Taylor. But for legal reasons, it will never happen.
@shimokita2 That's not true exactly. He played with them in 1981 and he may again. Keith is pissed at him for leaving and holds a bit of a grudge, but I think it will happen next tour with some appearances here and there.
great line up!!!and great of them to do this tribute to A REAL STONE!!He will never be forgotten!! Ian Stewart and Brian Jones was the cornerstones of The Stones!!
@xDeadMisfitsx Mick Jagger, Ron Wood, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman together are defenitly the Stones. Thanks to Keith's knuckle the "Stones" didn't sound like the Stones anymore during their last tour, it was an embarrashment in fact. This video sounds like the Stones only the voice of Jagger is missing and the show he puts up ofcourse.
Sooo so good to see and hear all these guys playing together ! Specially Mick Taylor and Ronnie Wood ! They should join all together again for the next Stones Tour !
as much as i wanted to see Captain Keith and Sir Mick onstage also, this may be the closet Wyman and Taylor get to an actual Stones "reunion" unfortunately....Wyman doesnt fly anymore and Taylor has had very recent health issues...something already suggested here though, would be a few shows at specific venues, that would be suitable enough...So make it happen Glimmer Twins!! Time waits for no one, and its definitely not on your side! (Unfortunately)
Now this is laid back blues! Great to see Charlie and Bill together again. Charlie looks as if he's actually getting into it and I think I saw a look of satisfaction on Bill's face. Talk about the old masters doing their thing.
@ukraininoak As both Mick and Keith loved Stu, it would be appropriate it they had joined the others... But maybe they didn't feel like a complete Rolling Stones reunion.
I wonder if Taylor's Les Paul is the same one he used in 1969 ---the one Keith Richards gave him. It looks identical---same color, bigsby tailpiece. etc. I bet it plays like a dream.
@cameltooth1 "they WOULD have been the best"????? HuH?

Look at Wyman for goodness sake, he's barely playing a note per bar - the guy's playing is total shit!

@jamie1994100 The Stones' biggest strength is their songwriting, and Keith's a major part of that.

Mick Taylor: the guy needs a new hair cut, a new wardrobe and a dietician. But, he can play the blues like nobody's business (even with 3 fingers).
