Like the man said , other people have tried more than just pot & cocaine , and have gone on to lead responsible lives . Everyone seems to assume that if you have tried drugs at some point , that you somehow automatically forfeit any chance of future success or ability to have a positive impact on yourself or your community. The reason that there isn't some sort of public outroar about Gov. Paterson's drug use, or admitting his drug use, is because MOST americans have done drugs. It is completely unreasonable to hold our public officials to standards which we do not demand of ourselves. Drugs don't directly lead to crime, drugs don't directly lead to immoral behavior. If you believe that they do, then you believe all of that propaganda they fed you in grade school.
