MLT and LM are massive legends and are revered within the club, but I agree with Cortese on this one. You can't just give some people freebies and expect others to pay - you have to be consistent. Cortese only responded to all the jibes by MLT and LM in the press which then led Stelling to this rant (what the fuck does he know about Saints anyway, he's a Hartlepool fan!). It's regrettable that there's a rift, but they're all grown men and should be able to get along for the sake of a £25 ticket.
Just to provide balance, The Sun has since admitted that Cortese didn't mention Tiss or Mcmenemy's names once in the interview. He was simply referring to the freebie culture that had evolved at Saints which meant friends of admin staff were getting free tickets, which is a bit ridiculous to be honest. Feel a bit stupid taking an article from that paper as gospel now, Jeff? Mcmenemy = legend, Tiss = legend and my idol growing up; can't they all just get along?

I completely disagree! Every fan pays his way. Just because they are legends doesnt mean they should get freebies. They have a lot more money than the average fan and got paid for the job they did. Even our owner Markus Liebherr paid for his own season ticket, if anything it's a good move by Cortese to make everyone equal.
