i use those rat trap for those bait steeling pricks use liver for bait screw the trap to a tree or a board bait down 6 to 8 inches off the grown it will screw up a weasels day
when somebody told you treating animals wrong is good he was wrong. All lives in the world are treated bad everyday, you are not the only one. You dont need to add cruelty. Good people are tryin to make this world a place to live for us. You kno what im sayin. Just let other lives not suffer. I hope you will be kind.
Here is a hint, on the Rat traps, twist small pieces of wire around the end of the snap and cut the ends at an angle, so it looks like barbed wire, then when the snap goes off, the barbs catch the squirrel and it is harder for them to pull out of it. I have not tried this method, but would like your thoughts on that. Thx.
A great way to catch squirrels is with a milk jug with the bottom cut off and notched for the spring of a 110 conibear.. just leave the cap on and put peanut butter in the back. I personally nail the jug to a leaning log or tree. Works great
The reason u mist the one in the box trap is because u did not wire in down I trap weasel with the box trap and rat trap I missed a ton before I started doing that u will have a lot more success if u do and good luck show me if u do it or just ask and I might make a video on how I do it if u would like good luck
When you have snow, falling snow or frezing rain don't ever put the trap on the ground. This summer build yourself a few squirrel boxes. a 2-3" hole fairly high up the box. Coffee can works too.
I prefer the rat traps with the bait clips. The plastic ones snap off when it is too cold. You can also save the birds by covering the trap by putting it in a coffee can or other container. Does Charlie eat the skinned squirrels?
where did you say you ordered the traps?, do you think you could give me a web site or something because i would like to order a whole bunch for squirrels, nice videos , keep em commin
good job!!! carry on... now what are you gonna do all summer up there this year?? do you have a tv out there? cable tv? hottub? keep'em coming bud! love the "wild north"!
@wiggler889 i havent decided what im gonna do this summer. maybe ill sleep on my hammock and watch the river go bye all summer till next trapping season
Andrew I like to use the crunchy PB it seems to help avoid so many misses. I think it is due to the animal having to try harder to get the peanut off the pan. The harder they try the less they are focused on escape and WHACK!!!
my cousin traps ermine with rat traps. He said he's caught marten on them too. Maybe you could try putting the rat traps in an area where the birds can't see them. I heard birds use sight primarily when looking for food.

have you tried running poles from tree to tree with snares on it . Peanut butter in the middle of the running pole. Very effective.

I just glue a peanut on the triger with super glue, that way they have to pull on it to get the nut. works all most every time.

same sets i use but i usually use apple because they tug to get it off where i find they will gently lick the peanut butter without firing the trap
and oh yeah, they hurt

pesky red squirrels make nests in your home if your not careful. I know you know that, but greenies don't thats a good reason why you trap them.
