  • i use those rat trap for those bait steeling pricks use liver for bait screw the trap to a tree or a board bait down 6 to 8 inches off the grown it will screw up a weasels day

  • why didin't you shoot that squirrel you saw?

  • Try a rat zapper they work better on squirrels

  • sweet.

  • What did you get at 5:07?

  • 110 conibears work good for squirrels set them around the den entrances

  • have you tried running poles from tree to tree with snares on it . Peanut butter in the middle of the running pole. Very effective.

  • We use rat traps to kiil the woodpeckers that are poking holes in our house. just set the trap where they are working.

  • @FISHBREATHH if you got woodpeckers poking holes in ur house, u got beetles in the wood. better get em out of there

  • I just glue a peanut on the triger with super glue, that way they have to pull on it to get the nut. works all most every time.

  • I would love to see another video like this.

  • is this in Michigan?

  • @AGfan102 northern canada, above the 60th parallel

  • Comment removed

  • @HuntTrap13 oh i just thought it was michigan cause its very woodsy in michigan and cold lol

  • @AGfan102 ya, im from MI not too cold this year

  • when somebody told you treating animals wrong is good he was wrong. All lives in the world are treated bad everyday, you are not the only one. You dont need to add cruelty. Good people are tryin to make this world a place to live for us. You kno what im sayin. Just let other lives not suffer. I hope you will be kind.

  • Here is a hint, on the Rat traps, twist small pieces of wire around the end of the snap and cut the ends at an angle, so it looks like barbed wire, then when the snap goes off, the barbs catch the squirrel and it is harder for them to pull out of it. I have not tried this method, but would like your thoughts on that. Thx.

  • how much did you pay for that much?

  • what kind of rifle is that?

  • That suck's !

  • I think I saw on the food net channel in britian they were eating squirrel.

  • try sticking corn or nuts in the peanut butter. it makes then have to pull more wich will set if the trap= dead squirrel

  • can you please make a video on how you skin a squirrel.

    thanks

  • There's a squirrel for Dinner

  • but i dont wanna kill them i just wanna capture them ... is there a way to weaken the trap and when he triggers it can it hold him till i come

  • awsome

  • they had those rat traps ant canadian tire

  • oplokiylIlw

  • favorite way to trap squirrels. not only is it effective, but its an instant kill usually.

  • A great way to catch squirrels is with a milk jug with the bottom cut off and notched for the spring of a 110 conibear.. just leave the cap on and put peanut butter in the back. I personally nail the jug to a leaning log or tree. Works great

  • Andrew,

How did you cook up the squirrel?

  • wrap so string over the butter.---after they lick what they can they tug string ----boom it's over

  • Hey that was a really good cooking lesson.thanks!

  • nasty little bastards aren't they? watch your fingers! They were designed to take out something a bit tuffer than a squirrel!!! LOL... Great Idea!!!

  • @stayingawake20 yeah i came close to getting bit by that trap

  • The reason u mist the one in the box trap is because u did not wire in down I trap weasel with the box trap and rat trap I missed a ton before I started doing that u will have a lot more success if u do and good luck show me if u do it or just ask and I might make a video on how I do it if u would like good luck

  • @foxracing597 that would be pretty cool if you made a video showing how you set them i could use some pointers im new to the rat traps.

    peace

  • When you have snow, falling snow or frezing rain don't ever put the trap on the ground. This summer build yourself a few squirrel boxes. a 2-3" hole fairly high up the box. Coffee can works too.

  • Andrew, a spruce bough over the top will keep out most birds. Thanks for the comment about me!

  • same sets i use but i usually use apple because they tug to get it off where i find they will gently lick the peanut butter without firing the trap

    and oh yeah, they hurt

  • @maritimeredneck ill have to try apple

  • I prefer the rat traps with the bait clips. The plastic ones snap off when it is too cold. You can also save the birds by covering the trap by putting it in a coffee can or other container. Does Charlie eat the skinned squirrels?

  • @mushercdn not squirrels he dont eat no

  • @TheWildNorth hiya what did you catch at 5:05, i can't work out what it is

  • wow that rat trap really poped that squirrels gord!

  • @rednecklowlife yeah i wasent expecting that squirrels head to be crushed

  • @TheWildNorth

They don't work that great for squirrels

  • Nice video, those rat traps are crazy.

  • I have heard that those pelts can be worth $3 each.

  • @Makete100 yes they can be worth $3 each if properly handled

  • where did you say you ordered the traps?, do you think you could give me a web site or something because i would like to order a whole bunch for squirrels, nice videos , keep em commin

  • @grousehunter123 my cousin ordered them from U.S.A

  • good job!!! carry on... now what are you gonna do all summer up there this year?? do you have a tv out there? cable tv? hottub? keep'em coming bud! love the "wild north"!

  • @wiggler889 i havent decided what im gonna do this summer. maybe ill sleep on my hammock and watch the river go bye all summer till next trapping season

  • Andrew I like to use the crunchy PB it seems to help avoid so many misses. I think it is due to the animal having to try harder to get the peanut off the pan. The harder they try the less they are focused on escape and WHACK!!!

  • @harvey8542 yeah thanks for the tip i am new to squirrel trapping i will try crunchy peanut butter

  • my cousin traps ermine with rat traps. He said he's caught marten on them too. Maybe you could try putting the rat traps in an area where the birds can't see them. I heard birds use sight primarily when looking for food.

  • @flyfysher69 i believe the rat trap would hold a mink or a martin.yeah ill have to hide them a little better i dident mean to catch that whiskey jack

  • pesky red squirrels make nests in your home if your not careful. I know you know that, but greenies don't thats a good reason why you trap them.

  • @kvg44gbs yeah they make nests in all places they carry fleas too

  • Thanks for sharing and have a good day.

  • That wasn't the greasy grey jay was it?

  • @MrArcticBlood no i dont think it was the greasy grey jay

  • Lol, it would hurt to snap those traps on your finger.
