Adam wanted more than Edon had permission to grant, the knowledge of good & evil. He succeeded to gain this knowledge, but failed thru his disobedience. The cost was God's dream, fellowship with man. The Gospel is the anecdote for the failure of success. The Cross was the price of failure. Jesus paid for Adam's failure on the Cross so He could restore fellowship betwen God & man. So then, Adams' "success" at sin was our failure, but Jesus' "failure" at sin was our success in righteousness.
