  • Great song !

  • this was really a surprise from donovan after a bit of a downhill slide .... great album ...

  • Saw a Donovan concert at my University back in '67, but Open Road always will be my favorite album and this my favorite song....

  • Legendary.

  • early wanderings on cornish coastlands, lovely memories and still flowing through my mind, magick.

  • LOVE this song, love the album. Wow! I wish everyone knew this stuff.

  • @LindaMewhirter You're right. I wish everyone knew this stuff too... I felt so glad when I found Donovan's Music that I recorded a tribute to donovan's music and words... it was home-made, but it's filled with love for music and for donovan's art as well... It's on my channel... if you want to listen to it and download it too! :)

  • Open Road - the little cassette - was my companion in Vietnam in 1971. Helped me cope. Thanks, man!

  • Discovering the Open Road album really changed my perspective on Donovan forever. This song in particular.

  • yeah! this album and neutronica are my two favs

  • It's funny: some people have asked me my favorite Donovan tunes, and they say "Sunshine Superman" right? Or "Mellow Yellow" right? And I say "no...Roots Of Oak and Rikki Tivvi Tavi...actually

  • @Asskicker32294 Well said, Everything from Open Road is a classic-truely Donovan's apex of achievement.

  • @scragger07 I couldn't agree more.

  • Open Road has got to be one of my favorite albums.

  • @magicalmysterygirl NO...not one of my favourite albums.......the MOST favourite album. It changed my whole life... brought a new awareness and other side of life.... exceptional. Donovan has maintained his faithall of these years and is still a perfect gentleperson.

  • This isn't '"Celtic". Its much older.

Its Druid, people. Spirits. Tree spirts. The moaning/howling//drone at the end is pure genius and the spirit of it all.

  • great song, great donovan, and i return...child...

  • One I forgot this song with age but I found it again ! Why It was posted on my birthday! AN today was my grandchild s birthday so prophetic to me thanks for posting this song!

  • thank you

Hai comprato l'ultima serie uscita in edicola?

Triste, vero?

  • Great song. The best song on this album and one of my top 5 favorite songs by Donovan.

  • THANK YOU for posting. This is my favorite Donovan song ever. I have open road on vinyl and will never part with it. A super album for all time.

  • THANK YOU- THERE is someone out there that thinks the same as me. Alas my vinyl was stolen , along with my car back in '73,( I got the car back but obviously the thief was a Donovan fan too as he kept the album.HEY! WHERE were you back then?

Found the CD at JBHIFI so all is forgiven! P.S. What is your fave track? Mine is Celtic Rock or Curry Land.

  • I know how you feel! I never knew anybody except my one friend who knew this album exists! That sucks that your album was stolen, but I was only 4 years old !! LOL!!! So thats my alibi!!! My fave track is "Roots of oak" ,but the whole album is just perfect.Donovan is a brilliant musician.Cheers :)

  • @chelpydog Hey Roger, where are you?

  • @scragger07 stealing cars oooOOOPS !
