The reason the superman dunk was amazing was because he jumped with TWO feet instead of jumping off one foot like most people when they have to dunk far. When you jump with two feet you slightly stop your forward momentum. You wouldn't understand because you can't dunk and just sit on your couch and criticize what you dont know.

The reason the superman dunk was amazing was because he jumped with TWO feet instead of jumping off one foot like most people when they have to dunk far. When you jump with two feet you slightly stop your forward momentum. You wouldn't understand because you can't dunk and just sit on your couch and criticize what you dont know.

A layup is a throw that comes from below the ring that hits the backboard and continues going up before coming down through the ring.
A Slamdunk is any throw where the ball is forced directly through the ring from above. It is not actually necessary for anyone to touch the ring when performing a slam dunk
Because of how high Dwight jumped he could firce the ball downwards into the ring from a distance

Actually it's scored by public opinion now isn't it? He is a popular player as well as being highly skilled. I remember a contest in the 90s Michael Jordan won though I personally thought his dunks weren't as impressive as another contestant's. But the crowd really were behind Jordan all the way... plus he did dunk it from outside the free throw line on that night. I think that proves that popularity helps with the scoring, but I still believe Howard had the best performance for this contest.

I 100% agree. Some of his dunks were good. His second dunk wasnt even a dunk. Its more hype now. The dunk contests in the 70's and 80's were classic. They were much better. I know, I know I couldnt do any of those dunks at all. And i know it. But if you enter the dunk contests and get a 50 for throwing it in. ( yes its impressive because is so high) but if thats a 50, you cant go higher, their have been dunks 10 times better then that.
