thats not a productionn bike, and plus it has a helicopter engine in it..so thats not exactly a competiton. the Y2K goes 250, and the dodge tomahawk comes close, but that one is a 12 cylinder engine with four wheels on it (two front, two back) its basically a car with a hand throttle

I thought the deal was that the 1999 and 2000 were capable of speeds in excess of 200MPH but then there was the agreement that they would be limited. (that's why a 99 or 00 has the 220 speedo and is still worth nearly the cost of a new one on Ebay) Anybody actually have one of the first busa's and have a stock top speed.

The real reason I mentioned this was, at the time the Kawa was slighter faster and all the minions thought Busa was the king Dog and nothing could touch it, which of course was and is is not the case.

Yeah I like the Kawa's looks as well although I never thought the Busa was an ugly design even when the 1st generation was revealed and the haters went on about it.

Both awesome rides and I've never seen 300kph on either of them ;-)

Took my '88 Honda Hurricane 1000 with a few tricks close to that, what a sweet bike in it's day with the 6 speed tranny and effortless acceleration.

For me ill keep my hayabusa because its fast as hell and its also got that dont fuck with me look. I owned a zx-12 and it was the biggest piece of shit i ever owned. 6000 miles and i started getting engine head leaks then after that steering kept working lose. Never had one problem with my busa yet. Great machine and great ride. PERIOD!!

This is a whole lot of shit talk going on here for 2 bikes. They are both fast in a striaght line. If either one is faster its only by the slightest, almost unoticable diffrenence. You want the best package that will destroy either one, get a a gsxr1000 or R1 or a zx10r and slap a turbo on it take out the electo limiting and you can get well over 200hp with a lighter bike.

I own a fireblade. that's really more fun than a hayabusa. Haya is too heavy for fast curve combinations. 1000cc should be maximum for sportive driving. the 1300cc haya for me, is a highway killer - nothin more.

The bike hits 220 at 10K and rises to 11K. Thats about a 2-3 mph rise at that gear with it being the end of the powerband. The number in the middle is the time for the day, nothing more. Its 1:57pm when he starts.

Hayabusa torque starts running out after 7K rpm and HP at 9.5K rpm. Still high but it degrades rather quickly. A hayabusas powerband is between 3200 and 9.5K, anything after that is just whatever (no major gains in speed).

y2k have only 6 produced bikes so u cant compere that one with bikes who are produced and sold in big series,moded busa or kawasaki could eazy have over 500 hp with max speed near 400 km/h and aceleration from 0-300 in less then 10 sec,so y2k with rols-roys jet engine is bad example,and if u want fastest bike then neither busa or zx 14 are your choise bcs they are 2 havy,suzuki gsx-r 1000 k7 have 196hp with only 172kg so that is this year winer

The hayabusa used to be the fastest production bike, before that the Kawasaki ZX12R was, and now The new 2006 released Kawasaki ZX14 kicks the busas arse. Yes they are limited, but the ZX14 still beats it. And i have had Suzuki people fight with me about this too, they say the 1999 model Hayabusa will beat a ZX14, and yes it is possible, because it was in 2000 that they started restricting the bikes, Im sure if the ZX14 was around in 99 it would have beaten the busa back then too.

LOL Been riding 22yrs, Had a HIGHLY modified GPZ900R(140+hp a rear wheel) that thing pulled 327kmph/200mp...And that was 9yrs ago!. Those Hayabusa's and ZZRs "modified" will see you touching 300mph! Had to laugh as the presenter made a big deal out of going 200mph on a modern bike.Try gearing up a modern 600cc sport bike,and set it up for flat out speed...you'd be surprised! (I was!...but im getting old!)
