  • I would have gone with a cockney accent except no one in the audience would have understood what I was saying so we opted to scale the accent down. The kids would have been all over the place and it would have sounded terrible. Thanks for the comments, Bob.

  • @bpoppleton you are really good even without the cockney accent :) ,, id say the best fagin i have seen on stage :)

  • I was saying that they should've been singing in cockney accents, which is why American sounded out of place and odd.

  • I agree, the American accent of the children sounds really odd, but accents AND singing at the same time is difficult for little ones, no need to be so harsh!

    Regarding Fagin's character, have a look at Pantalone from Commedia dell'Arte...
