idk about the rest of you but i live in a city where the only place for me to park is on the street. Sorry there arent any public parking lots near my house. So unless they want me to park in my yard theres nothing much i can do.
You plow drivers should just skip streets completely that have cars parked on the side of the road.. so when they get out to go to work they cant because they're stuck.. then they'll learn quick.
In some states they only allow parking on one side of the street per week, to clear both sides and still allow parking. Someone bring this to Canada so my neighbours stop fucking up the snow removal

In fact they never tells us not to park on this street, even after a snow, because it's not a snow route. There are entire neighborhoods designated no-parking after a snow, but this neighborhood is not one of them. We leave it up to the kindness of the residents to do the courteous thing, but as you can see, that hope is lost on these residents.

When I used to live in Buffalo NY, I did - because they never fucking plowed the goddamned street, but they were sure punctual about giving out tickets and they didn't have any moral qualms about taxing you for the service they never performed.
a lot of the streets in des moines are relatively narrow, as a 25 year resident i can say that if you want your street plowed in the winter, and plowed well for that matter without possible property damage, you should probably find a place to park your car off the street when snow removal is going on. sometimes thats not always possible right in front of your house (like some homes in the drake neighborhood which do not have any driveways), but usually you can find parking relatively close.
I'm a plow driver and wish we could just hit the cars parked in the road in the winter because the plow driver has limited viability un like the little vehicles everyone drives.

@cadrolls1 i live out by the highway, and my brothers 95 camaro that was insured to me got plowed. no one told us until the caps called a few hours later and asked if i was aware that my car was smashed on the side of the road. 5300 dollars :D but im pretty sure the plow driver hit me because when i'm shovelling i throw loads of snow on his windshield as he drives by. since he fucks up what i just shoveled

It was pretty close. what I hate even more is the pickup that's parked right next to my driveway, meaning I have to shovel and extra 6 feet where the plow can't reach.
in my town some college kid didn't get the message that you don't park on the street in the winter, plow driver snowed his car in.
way better learning experience than a $20 ticket.
