I told my ortho that I did NOT want perfectly straight teeth...I'm nearly 60! I just wanted to correct a simple problem. Invisalign forces you to get perfectly straight teeth, designed by computer.
My dentist told me to change mine every week :/ Which is probably why they didn't work and I now have another 7 to wear :( And that's kinda annoying for me seeing as I had 40 to begin with and I thought I was all done then he gave me even more lol!

@agbff4ever I had braces several years ago and my retainer is pretty much the same as an Invisalign tray, so it looks the same as a certain type of retainer.
@TheHazcam I personally think traditional braces will the job better the first time around alot of people who get Invisalign have to get stuff tweaked at the end of the treatment because things werent done correctly or there was an unintended outcome. I'm 25 myself so I hear ya about prefering clear braces they just dont always get the best reviews my orthodontsist seemed like he was trying to push me towards the traditional braces so do what you must but that's my opinion.
@STIGLIglamGEEK : Yes you do get a retainer it should be the last set of aligners. I have invisalign right now I'm on set 19 of 30 I'm pretty sure I will need to make some adjustments I would recommend getting traditional braces over Invisalign though unless you absolutely need to have Invisalign.

as someone beginning invisalign with a mild case (one gap), i can definitely say that many people agree with you. specifically, people that i have spoken to that formerly had braces and those that did and didn't wear their retainers properly and had to get invisalign that weren't as happy with the results (their fault mostly)

okay i got invisiline and they r not tht great. if ur thinkin about getting them, dont..just get regular braces. it is so aggarvating in school to have to go and take my invisiline out and clean them everyday before and after lunch and it wastes time. plus, once you get the "buttons" they r so visible. all my frends can see them..

They dont match the color of your teeth so they like stick out and it looks like you have food in your teeth. but they're meant for the invisiline to snap in easier. but whatever, my teeth r getting straighter :)
@crisalis12345 Buttons are these white "bumps" for a lack of a better word that are mounted to each of your teeth other than the front ones, and it gives the aligners something tighter to grip onto so that they can actually move your teeth, otherwise they would be to loose fitting. Hope it helps!
@willowandlemon No, They are quite tight and custom fitted. They have these things called "attachments" which are 1/4 size of a normal braces bracket and just anchor the aligner into the mouth. The number of attachments depends on the type of movement the tooth is doing and the treating doctor.

as someone beginning invisalign with a mild case (one gap), i can definitely say that many people agree with you. specifically, people that i have spoken to that formerly had braces and those that did and didn't wear their retainers properly and had to get invisalign that weren't as happy with the results (their fault mostly)

okay i got invisiline and they r not tht great. if ur thinkin about getting them, dont..just get regular braces. it is so aggarvating in school to have to go and take my invisiline out and clean them everyday before and after lunch and it wastes time. plus, once you get the "buttons" they r so visible. all my frends can see them..

@crisalis12345 they like take this gross glue stuff that will stay on your teeth until the treatment is over. They dont match the color of your teeth so they like stick out and it looks like you have food in your teeth. but they're meant for the invisiline to snap in easier. but whatever, my teeth r getting straighter :)

@crisalis12345 Buttons are these white "bumps" for a lack of a better word that are mounted to each of your teeth other than the front ones, and it gives the aligners something tighter to grip onto so that they can actually move your teeth, otherwise they would be to loose fitting. Hope it helps!

@willowandlemon No, They are quite tight and custom fitted. They have these things called "attachments" which are 1/4 size of a normal braces bracket and just anchor the aligner into the mouth. The number of attachments depends on the type of movement the tooth is doing and the treating doctor.

@willowandlemon no. in MOST cases they put "attachments" on your teeth. these are basically like little glue dots that dry into hard bumps on your teeth, and they help the alligners stay on.

hey i also have invisalign, and they stop to hurt about 4 days into the 2 weeks that you wear each tray set. also the lisp goes away in like a week, so you shouldnt worry about it

They do look like retainers. However INVISALIGN uses computer virtual technology to align your teeth 1/4 mm per aligner which is changed every two weeks

I wear mine for two weeks, I got attachments right away, they hurt like hell the first few days, now it only hurts when I pop 'em off. oh...and the attachments scratch the inside of my mouth when I eat...
