  • Doesn't mention anything about adjusting the cable tension and using the barrel adjusters to correct shifting. It is a part of adjusting the rear derailleur. If your going to do a video at least make it complete instead of clogging youtube with incomplete videos. Found a video here that covers that part watch?v=Rr2LTP5Yikg and watch?v=4dOSdGTdxM4

  • 0:55 once u install the change, how bout u show us how to ya retard

  • how is the chain installed ??

  • You have a surfer kind of voice like RADICAL DUUUDEEE! lol

  • Like Ur Vids

  • He's "Samuel Jackson!"

    Lets see who get it..

  • must be tough with a voice like that :/

  • do i need to remove the chain before installing this thing?

  • @valentass88 You can either remove the chain, or go the easier route and take off the pulleys and reinstall when the chain is in the right position

  • too much cable slack.

  • i was searching for this video for days lol thnx its just what i need

  • Thanks thay was realy helpful.

  • what do you mean? once you have installed the chain?

do i have to take off the derailers wheels to do this or do i break my chain?

you aren't showing me how to install this if you go and leave the chain out of it ?

  • @itsablack1

Your don't need to split your chain (though this is an option).

Instead, split the pulley cage, by removing the lowest pulley and loosening the top pulley - then insert chain around top pulley, insert and re fix the lower pulley and tighten the cage screws -voila!

  • many thanks!!

  • i love how they keep fucking skipping how you install the fucking chain for FUCK SAKE

  • @kesdabest try looking up "how to install the chain" maybe =)

  • How-To videos don't need distracting music while the narrator is talking, kind of defeats the entire purpose.

  • your accent sounds retarded!

  • @D1rec7or and you coment is not ?

  • do you have to get a specific derailleur for an 18 speed bike??

  • this has been a very useful video, now I don't have to pay $40 to have my X-9 installed, Thanks a ton!

  • @6patman6 where ever you purchesed your derailer from they should fit it for free i thought

  • @TheWayneedwards No man, it woulda cost me $40 for them to do anything with it. Any bike shop around here charges that much.

  • @6patman6 Well i think thats stupid, I had my derailleur replaced and fitted 3 times and they fitted all of them for free as long as i bought the Item from their shop.

  • Awesome video...thanks.

  • I was a girly girl in trouble until I found your video. My dad doesn't make fun of me anymore! (he asks me how I did it instead). Thanks!

  • @SrtaComeflores Awesome!

  • @SrtaComeflores Sweet deal, what did you install?

  • @pcfxer I replaced a Shimano STX RC rd. I don't know about the new

one though, this nice boy from the bike shop just gave it to me for free.

I guess it's some compatible derailleur because it works perfectly.

  • why oh why are you shouting?

  • Top thanks.

  • @no7shark Np

  • Omg was looking so long for this!! Nice vid!

  • Do you set all of this with the chain on the biggest ring for the front crank?

  • @house4ursoul You will need to shift through the front gears to make sure not to stress the chain, such as running big cog front and back.

  • Thanks for posting. I was able to adjust my rear dearailleur. It no longer locks up in the highest gear :-) I was able to adjust the H screw.

    Regards.

  • thank you very much! i really needed this quick and very clear explanation!

  • NP!

  • Very helpful!

  • Dropooouht? Is this guy Canadian?

  • Lovely video. Very thoughtful. Thanks Mr.

  • Thank you!

  • damn... my cable still jumps into the rims... I sware i've fooled around with every screw & cable adjuster.

Works 100% fine in the lower 8 gears though

  • This sounds like you have not set the upper limit correctly. Go through the entire process again and you should have better luck.

  • my rear derailleur doesn't move the chain to the smallest cog after I have reinstalled.. did I screw it on to the dropout wrong? Do I need to adjust the B screw? not sure why it wont drop down..

  • ohh wait think I figured it out..need to adjust H screw...

  • thanks! nice and simple

  • Uhh how about the part of setting the chain on the cogs? Do you need to find the master link and separate it ? If not hey thats great but...

  • Go to my profile and check out the "Removal and Installation of Bike Chains" and "Installing Quick Release Chain on your Bicycle" videos. Those will show you both options depending on your chain type.
