  • Very helpful, thank you!

  • I love how you say filter

  • Any idea where the evaporator is (on the 2004 Civic) ??

  • same as 2001 honda civic - - -

autozone STP brand 2pk cabin filter for honda civic $15.99+ tax

  • Save even more money by purchasing a fiber ribbed 18"X24" home AC filter for less than $5. You have to cut strips in the sections to the exact size then compress to fit the frame but it works great. White fiber is water resistant and holds shape. My car smells like new inside again!! $30 for two filters for a car is too much...

  • just wash them in the sink, geeezzzzzzzz

  • I have a 2002 Civic and I changed the air filter following the extremely simple instructions in the manual. :)

  • This is the best vid showing how to replace it. I know nothing about cars but did this one easy. Dealer wanted $100 lol. Thanks!

  • Thankyou for sharing the video! It helped out greatly! I have not ever changed the filter after 172K miles! HUGE difference afterward!

  • Thank you very much , your guide made life so much easier !!! Now i have fresh air and hopefully my windows wont steam up)))

  • I'm mechanically minded, but have never seen or changed an in cabin filter. My 94 civic has 240,000kms, I have not looked at it yet and not looking forward to it lol. Very descriptive tutorial, thanks mate (Y)

  • @kapow151 a 1994 honda civic does not have a cabin air filter so ur good

  • @kaliaisgay I just found out after I tried looking for one for 30minutes under my dash. Although there's a fan under there and I cleaned out all the leafs that have built up over the years. So this tutorial still helped me out

  • I think if you use bathroom tissue it would do just as well. :T

  • You can find these filters on eBay really cheap.

  • THANKS A LOT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good instruction.

you are the only person on youtube that show the'' air flow arrow'' direction.

    thank you.

  • Thank you!!

  • Thank you for your video! I had no idea there was such a thing as a cabin air filter. I went out right away and changed my filters, which have never been changed. I had dead leaves and tree seeds and bird feathers all over the filters! I'm so glad I changed my filters! Thank you!!

  • Very informative video. My 2004 Civic has 160,000 and the cabin air filter has never been replaced. Your video was the only one I watched; less than 10 minutes later I had the filters replaced. Done. Yeah, those old filters were FILTHY. By the way, the owner's manual says, "Have your Honda dealer replace this filter [Dust and Pollen Filter] every 30,000 miles under normal conditions." That's it. No how-to instructions. Thanks for a great video.

  • Thank you. i never knew where that sucker was. just replaced em..and it was crazy, i dropped one of the old filters on the ground and it left like greese marks on the concrete...nasty.. .thanks!!

  • always useful those youtube videos! thank you for posting this 11/10

  • Thx for the how to video. I will attempt do it myself soon. Wish me luck =)

  • Thanks for this extremely helpful video. I changed my dirty old filter soon after seeing this. Thanks again and please post more civic specific tutorials if possible. FYI - the 03 civic lx, glove compartment looks slightly different but the process for changing the filter is essentially the same as that in the video.

  • Thanks for the video. I was able to change the filter.

  • good stuff!

  • would u recomend u sing those reusible wasable electrostatic airfilters u can get for your home heater unit? cut down to fit the civic cabin and engine air filters?

  • I suppose it would work, I may try the furnace filters next time, its worth a shot.

  • Thanks for the video. Replaced my used civic's filter which were disgusting. Your video helped a lot.

    Others - The owner's manual

(under Dust & Pollen Filter) has instructions on

replacing it, but who reads the manual anyway :o).

  • Yes the manual is a last resort. ;-)

  • yeah, i just changed mine yesterday...after 4 years of no change. Didn't even know where they were. The vents smell fresher than ever, a/c works even better too.

  • Nice job man!! Thanks for the help.

  • holy crap thank man!!!! I DIDNT EVEN KNOW I HAD CABIN AIR FILTERS!

  • Excellent training video. Thanks big time!

  • Thank you so much! This was a great help. Did it myself and saved me some money.

  • thanks so much! my filters were nasty!

  • Thanks for making this video man.

  • Great job man thank you so much.

  • Thanks so much man! I have an '03 honda civic that I bought brand new and never had changed the filter. The dealership was wanting to charge me over 50 bucks to do it, but thanks to your video it only cost me 16. I would be interested in other maintance tips you got for taking care of my civic. Post them on here. Thanks again!

  • I got it, I just couldn't see. But do you know how to do this on a 2000 CR-V??

  • Thank you so much. I had no idea how easy it was. I had a problem putting the door that covers the filters back on. Does it slip in then click? I can get it to click but nothing slides under anything first. Thanks again!

  • Thanks sooo much. The dealer tried to charge me $150 to do this!! I am going to go buy some filters and do this today.

    Thanks again!!!

  • Hey Joe,

Just got my civic hybrid out of the shop for an oil change and they wanted an extra $120.00 to replace the cabin filters and engine air filter. Just got done spending $35.00 for the filters and approx. 10 minutes of my own time and I am done. Thanks for the video. It saved me $85.00. It is great having something like this to help with regular car maintenance.

  • I just bought an '04 Civic and the previous owner was a smoker. I got the old filters out in about 1 min. thanks to this video. Saved me a lot of head scratching and possibly screwing up my car! Thanks!

  • Glad it helped, I bet you old filters were bad! Hope you enjoy your new civic.

  • Thanks, you just saved me $75. But what a bitch getting those retaining clips out! I worked and worked and worked to get them out. For others, if you look at this video at 35 seconds, the user slips his thumbnail under the lower part of the clip, and pushes towards the center of the glovebox. It works like a charm. Thanks.

  • Awesome, who wanted 75 bucks? The Dealer? Wow. Glad this helped, Thanks
