  • nice to see alan thicke preaching (just kidding!)

  • Thank you for airing this!!

  • People in fact never see their sin in a depraved state of mind and body.Man cannot repent from the depraved state.God's Spirit must be given in order to see God and therefore repent properly Repentance like grace and faith are gifts from God.There is no greater Virtue than Christ better than the law to convict man.

  • AMEN!!!

  • Jeremiah 17:9 Herein the heart is desperately wicked; it is deadly, it is desperate. ... The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

  • Honestly read Deuteronomy chapter 30. Moses must be mistaken. I cannot see total human depravity in this passage. Instead I see a preacher who is preaching the benefits of following the Lord. One who is preaching the "positives." Honestly help me with this passage. If you are a Calvinist help me with this scripture.

  • mathfiend88 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 I think he must be referring to this verse.

  • Reading 28th chapter of Deuteronomy should help since it proclaims all the curses for disobedience and 29th where he reminds them what the Lord has done among them + warns them not to be like all those nations with idols.

And this passage does not even attempt to speak on human depravity but on justice and righteousness of God. The problem from this passage is that every single one of us has already chosen death.

Isaiah speaks rather well on human depravity, Psalms are really useful there too.

  • In Deut. Moses says, "Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach" (Deut. 30:11-14)when he refers to living according to God's law. But Calvinists will say that it is utterly impossible for any man live according to God's law. Now either Moses wasn't telling the truth or didn't have a clear picture. Apparently to Moses the "total depravity" of man is a new doctrine. This "doctrine" or better yet idea cannot be true because he would have said otherwise.

  • well, I guess Apostle Paul was mistaken then when he spoke on the fact flesh cannot please God and that we are dead in our sins (I guess it was just poetry there).

Law is given to those who are already chosen by God - Israel. Now, read verses 13 and 14 and try to recall in which context Paul used these words.

  • John 3:36 is a good scripture for what you are saying but it falls short. What you and most Calvinists say is that the burden for salvation rests solely on God and yes that is true. But here this scripture points light on this point...It seems to me that this scripture places some of that burden on men themselves. Men are capable of having eternal life when they first believe in the Son. They then will be sent to hell if they reject the Son. Some of the burden does rest on man himself!!

  • does this guy have a chirch in Boynton Beach, FL?

  • John the baptist came preaching just repentance and jesus himself said of all men that have everbeen born, none is greater than John the baptist, but even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is. Repentance is only part of the answer.

  • Thank God he is going to judge our hearts and not our actions, unlike this guy. He thinks that the criminals are going to hell because of what they have done. We have no way of knowing if they have repented. There will be people that have been good but not forgive someone else that will be in hell. If actions determined our fate we would all recieve hell.

  • "He thinks that the criminals are going to hell because of what they have done." Not true. He first describes the heart of man being wicked. Then showed how man naturally thinks his heart is good, using prisoners for his example.

  • Amen. It's great to see some good preaching.

  • thankyou borhter for posting TRUTH God Bless You!

  • Of course most people hate the Christian message. They hate it so much they crucified Jesus - the source of that gospel.

  • The world is wounded and Christians are the salt of the earth. Of course people don't like the Christian message. Salt in a wound is going to have a bite to it. It's supposed to. This video is a great teaching.

  • I'd like to watch all sermons with that background...

Thanks for posting this TRUTH. Strange how loving people requires showing them how lost they are! We can do it though... because we were once lost and wrong too - like every disciple of Jesus!

  • David wrote in the Psalms that the law was a delight, not something to give him anxiety. Its easy to say Jesus was talking about someone else. NO, he was talking about us. (those who know God, or claim to know him). If we notice, Jesus preached to the people of God, not the Romans. Its not the "sinners" that need to be saved, but us, who claim to know God. The Pharisees were blind in their seeing. We must become blind, in order that we may see. Then, we shall know.

  • "I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free"- That must be one of the principle Scriptures over my life.

  • I am thrilled that you chose to address this topic!

  • :) I've missed seeing new videos from you. I hope you're doing well. Take care.

  • secondly, and most importantly a person that doesn't die to self, doesn't experience the newness of life(The New Covenant)promised in Romans 6, and our good works should come as a byproduct of that new life in Christ. Is a person even saved if they haven't truly died to self, and given Jesus their heart completely?

  • Amen to that! Sadly there seem too few who find that Truth.

  • excellent teaching. A strong dose of truth; just what is needed in today's church and society. Amen

  • amen you sho right

  • Good teaching brother

  • Awesome ministry. Glory to God..
