Greetings and thank you for recording ! Im playing that right now and its an amazing piece i like to slide the octaves at the end and i like a warmer sound all along but deam you're good ! ! ! Amazing again ! ! !
I really had to push my guitar for this recording. The guitar is by Hippner, in the style of Torres, spruce top, maple back and sides. It's an intimate instrument with a rather soft voice, but it's my favorite guitar.
I appreciate the time you have taken to comment on the video. Thank you!
Damn good, man. This is one of my favourite Garcia etudes to play. I wanted to check it out on youtube to see if I could improve on any sections. I think I'll modify my ending to be less straight-foreward. Thanks for the vid.
The guitar is a Darren Hippner 2003, modeled after Torres. I pushed it for this particular piece, but it's my personal favorite. Spruce top, maple back and sides. Thanks for asking!
Thank you, but I think you're too kind! I've enjoyed a few of your recordings at your website (Marakech, Sad Life, Sunny Day) and I can only hope to be reincarnated NOT as a player, but rather as a musician, such as yourself.
But I am very grateful for your kind comments on my playing. Thanks again.
Believe me, I'm trying to get these Garcia Etudes better known with a little help from YouTube! Hard to believe they were written in the early 90's ('91 or '92 I think) but aren't more popular. They do seem to be catching on though.
Great job! I've put up a video of #6 but my virtuosity doesn't match yours. Excellent tone and clarity. I think that I'll try it and see if I can't get close to your skill.
I'm familiar with your recording of #6, and I hope you'll be recording some more for us!
Thank you for your kind comment. I love this study and many others in the set, and the composer, Gerald Garcia, no doubt deserves more credit than I for this.
Well performed! I'm learning number 23 at the mo. I really like Garcia's etudes. :)

@Cretin321 Thanks Cretin321! I also like Garcia's Etudes. Good luck with 23. I'm playing around with #11 as I find time!
