The HHO can be produced on demand, rather than being stored in a big tank. So it is not as dangerous, and does not require storage. If you are afraid of running out of fuel, just carry more than 4 ounces of water. Yes, electrolysis has been around for a long time, but the efficiency of the electrolysis process perhaps can be improved over previous methods. The needed electricity may be collected from solar PV cells etc.. Separate storage of H and O is unnec. because the HHO gas requires spark.
@iexusuxei While it is true that electrolysis is expensive and exceedingly inefficient, there have been numerous innovations in hydrogen production. We can now efficiently make hydrogen from cellulose (among other things) with the use of specific bacteria. Mind you this is only one of many new methods, however character limit won't let me list. Imagine turning your grass clippings into fuel. So while his method of producing hydrogen sucks, the basic principles of technology can still be applied.
@Daveman78 Oh I agree whole heartedly, this video however is a very bad example and is actually part of a scam.
Like the "fuel efficiency boosters" they claim to sell and fit to your car that allegedly use this "technology".
There are two main things with this technology. One is to produce is safely and reliably and in a form that produces less cO2 than conventional methods. The second is safe and easy storage of the hydrogen in a stable (preferably solid) form.
@BarakaTheGreat Fox local affiliates do not share FOX News' mentality. My friend knows an on-air guy for the local Fox affiliate and they cannot stand the stigma. They aren't a political operation whatsoever and don't share the views.
a chance to undo some of the damage we've done in the world and also freedom from the stranglehold of OPEC. i watch the "market" everyday as the car companies are going down the tubes and the gov't can't bail out everyone unless the they want to start printing money like they did before WWII in Germany. why would the car cos. want to bring about their own demise? am i that nieve (sp)?
LOL! @ "Hotter than the surface of the sun" He'd be dead in a millisecond if that was true :/

This guy is going to patent ELECTROLYSIS :-)
Good luck with that, we did this in first year Science, nearly 50 years ago.
Where do Fox get their reporters from FFS !

It's not running on water it's running on hydrogen ffs,
Electrolysis breaks it down into oxygen and hydrogen which you burn and it amazingly makes water again.
His magical "HHO" is just a 2:1 mixture of oxygen and hydrogen. Wikipedia "Oxyhydrogen" for an explanation.
It's not new. And hydrogen is dangerously expensive.
Electrolysis requires electricity and is NOT efficient. You need to generate the electricity using fossil fuels.

@ericunderscores Well they might want to make that perfectly clear at some point. Because I didn't even know until you cleared that up, haha.
