I corrected somebody at work today and after I corrected them I said "So sorry 7up" They didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I had to explain it to them and then they said "Oh yeaaahhh I remember that"
@StreetballAttitude church he left rap i know why...cuz they were askin for something called a soul many rappers have left the game cuz of that but rappers dont do that now at days
@micknamer ah k now i got it i know he was one of the first record producer wit sugar hill king tim and all them im a huge fan of the oldschool ya know although i was not born in this time
Yeah I guess there are those who humiliate themselves for $ such as Soulja Boy. Although Kanye claims he's getting "harder," so getting bad attention at first might get a lot of people to respect him later.
is that really how African-American people you've seen act? Sounds like you're the one with the dumb gringo stare that can't even tell what someone's doing if you're looking right at them. And remember eminem? One of the top 3 rappers? He couldn't give you a "dumb nigger stare" if he wanted to.
@chazzlyboy whats your point my gorilla face, eminem is a bug eyed nigger worshipping white pussy ,i am introducing the new cool racism chic, multiculturalism is played out and geeky
So are peace, education, medicine, etc. played out and geeky? Multiculturalism is a permanent and essential thing just like the former 3 institutions.
Can you imagine what would happen these days if a rap artist actually took the time to school viewers like Kurtis did -- in an endorsement for a soft drink!? I give him major props!
Haha. I had never seen this commercial before. Kurtis definitely had that marketable voice for shit like this though. Damn, Sprite was down with hip hop for a minute.
Longer than just a minute, lol , I remember when I was a kid all the 90s sprite commercials were targeted at black people... Always had a hip hop theme, rap artists or NBA stars sponsoring, and slogans like "Quench Yo Thirst"...
Because CC/Sprite Headquarters want you to think there is such thing as a 'lymon'. But no, all they're trying to do is prove to you that Sprite tasted better than 7-Up. I agree, but not as much as Sierra Mist. XP
Oh, so that's why I can't find Slice anywhere these days! Well, can you still get orange Slice? Or wait, did they make Orange slice? Because maybe I'm thinking of Orange Crush....
I can't believe I don't remember this commercial and I was about 2 (when it came out) but I remember both New Edition comercials from 1985 and 1986. This was around the time Kurtis' career was going downhill because LL Cool J, Whodini, Run DMC, and the Beastie Boys were well advancing with Hip-Hop while Kurtis was considered "old school." New Jack Swing was just around the corner, jherri curls were going out the door, breakdancing and popping was just killed by the snake and the wop!
