  • i say Marty Stuart should of done all of the singing he sounds better

  • Two of my favorites....never knew they did this together. WOW!!!

  • just too cool

  • Don't understand how 13 people could dislike this duo - all I can say is "Get a Life"

  • okay thay sing great and are very good at what they do but why do thay look like douche bags no i'm not trash talking look at them its true.

  • beautiful <3<3 love it<3<3

  • Magic on guitars, mandolins, voices...

  • I fucking hate advertisments

  • @yabuddy90210 right on brother.

  • These two sang and played brilliantly!!!

  • cant wait to see the great marty stuart at the watseka theatre watseka illinois on saturday july 2, 2011

  • I grew up on a love of country music from the 40's to 70's and so did Keith Urban, although KU also had a fair apprenticeship in other music genre's, through his very early start in pubs in his teens - linked to many Aussie rockers. He went on to compete in Australian country music competitions as that was his direction and was mentored by the Australian Country Music King - Slim Dusty. But it is Nashville where he is today, making it big with his music and singing the songs of his heroes.

  • Two Awsome Singers!! Never quite seen anyone enjoy or respect their fellow singers like Keith...Love him!!

  • I think its a good song with a lot feelings expressed- Elvis did that song very well, with other words excellent.

  • God u all should be in nasville giving advise to the 'Professionals". Your a bunch of fucking Know it alls!

  • To all you people who think that modern country/pop isnt "real country", let me remind you that back in the day, people like Merle Travis and Hank Williams were both HEAVILY criticized for not playing "real hillbilly music" or "real roots bluegrass" and had a pop image. Haters will always hate, I suggest you just enjoy the music from two excellent musicians of the present day.

  • @keepingthebeat1989 I see your point but i'm gonna stick to what Dale Watson sang "country my ass"

  • This is an un-believable rendition of this song. Damn near brought me to tears

  • Few people can sing like Marty Stuart...Keith can sing well too.

  • Great song and great cover!

  • i agree Keith can't sing country he's a pop singer wats he doing in nashville

  • You guys nailed this song.Just awesome!!!!

  • Wow, some people are just ignorant. Listen to Be Here or The Ranch. They're pretty much bluegrass albums..

  • Shame on Keith Urban, he doesn't deserve to cover Hank. Keith isn't county, he's a joke

  • @dgallen88 your just jealious that you cant look as good or sing as good as keith urban...he is the hottes male singer there is in country music....

  • @dgallen88 your just jealious that you cant look as good or sing as good as keith urban...he is the hottes male singer there is in country music....they are way far better at this song then hank himself....

  • Comment removed

  • Well, certainly Marty is terrific.

  • I bout lost my lunch when I heard keith urban slaughtering some hank

  • @filo5opher Poor old Hank deserves better than these two pretending they can sing his music. What a shame, cant write a song of your own, murder someone elses

  • I have my tickets to see Marty Stuart at the Watseka Theatre Watseka Illinois on July 2, 2011. Are you going?

  • the good version of Keith Urban. Miss those days..

  • brilliant guitar and harmonies

  • just seen marty and his band tonite in dublin fantastic show thanks guys you made the nite hope to see you back in ireland sooner than later keep it country boys

  • It'd be cool if Hank Williams, Hank Jr and Hank III all stormed onto the stage and beat the fuck out of Keith Urban for doing that. Then they could carry Marty around on their shoulders and do a victory lap of the Opry.

  • That's so cool !!

    Cheers !

  • I am so blessed to live in Nashville and to have been to the ole opry as much as I have, saw Johnny Cash there they do this song right.

  • What kimd of guitar is marty playing

  • @bijiardo

    An F Model Gibson mandolin......I believe it's an F5.

  • This is great! Country sucks..but this helps.

  • @EricDymond Country doesn't suck .........SOME country sucks I would agree, but there's some great country music still out there.

  • Marty Stuart will be in concert on Independence weekend Saturday July 2, 2011 at the Watseka Theatre Watseka Illinois.

  • Since when did Marty Stuart look like a butch lesbian

  • This is one of the many reasons I love my town, Nashville never ceases to charm me. A place were music and art mingle like the waters of the Cumberland.

  • @LeFeff Old Hank would roll over in his grave if he heard this, Marty sings flat and obviously has no idea about the song he's singing. Pityfull is the word that comes to mind

  • @46r11 You talk out of your arse ! If you think he sings flat go get you ears checked out.

  • @pedalman Sorry you feel that way but his ranking says it all, you will find him ranked number 66 by the CMA. And the reason for that is he sings off key. Perhaps your tone deaf??

  • @46r11 Who are the CMA these days? , what are they ?, who do they represent ?

You just have to look at the awards ceremony to understand where they lean towards, they probably have Taylor swift ranked above Marty Stewart .....CMA rankings mean absolutely nothing.

  • @pedalman Well on that we can agree, I caught a show of Martys in Renfro Valley Ky and if it hadnt been for Connie Smith the place would have been empty. Marty bombed. he can sure play guitar or Mandolin but singing he should leave to others -

  • @46r11 Well, we can agree on your point too, I went to see his recent concert in Newcastle Upon Tyne England and they used the hall no2 but if Connie had been there he could have filled the main hall.

I hadnt been a fan of Martys' havnt even bough one track of his but he did a great concert over here and the band were brilliant bass player and drummer did awesome bluegrass harmonies and the lead guitarist was also great.

  • @pedalman Nice chatting, hope all is well at your house

  • at 1:03 the camera stops on a random girl in the audience who might otherwise seem lost in the words, until Keith starts to sing, and we find out she's just another shallow kid who's never heard of Hank Williams. ("Oh, I was just waiting on Keith Urban to sing so I can scream. Screw that other guy; this song is boring.")

  • @mdgtrpckr Right on , these guys should be at Joes Bar and Grill. Terrible singing by a couple of wantabee

  • terrific!beautiful

anyone who sys that it's not good should just be quiet because it was brilliant!

  • it's funny...at 2:35...Marty does Keith's harmony by accident and they look at each other and laugh...great version boys :)

  • is there not anyone who hasnt felt as low as what this song talks about, all bad memories, and times you feel like dying , and you cry, and feel so alone.....amazing.....and if u dont get goosebumps...well i dont know what to say on that....

  • I think they did a beautiful job ... I love Keith always and Marty was very good, also.

  • 168,000 views... Thats hard to believe!!!!! What harmony.

  • . . . stone country ! ! !

  • GÄNSEHAUTSONG BEAUTIFUL DIE ZWEI

  • i think Keith did a good job on this song, but the other guy just fucked it up

  • @nmoravec1 You're a dumbass!

  • @nmoravec1 Dumbass is an understatement

  • I don't think they did justice to one of the best country songs of all time. And I'm one of those country fans who can't stand Keith Urban's music. Love Marty Stuart, but I think they should have sang something else.

  • Love me some Hank, but this version is TERRIBLE... sorry KU lovers, he ruined it

  • that's one hell of duet two artist great harmony and the song is the country classic thanks for posting

  • For all of you idiots that think Keith isn't talented, open your eyes and ears. Keith is sooo awesome ESP in concert. It's not his fault he is georgeous! Jealous???

  • Marty's got a bit of the tranny in him.

  • Marty and Keith are really good! Marty, you are not given enough credit. You are one of the best. Period.

  • Keith Urban isn't country.

  • ohhhhh my so nice

  • No matter what.. No one will EVER beat Hanks original version. It came from a different time, place ,era and even World. you have to have LIVED it, to play it right. there isn't anyone left. RIP Hank and dont let the Miley's and taylor's get you down..you are the KING. They are just Pop tarts and they dont belong in Country Heaven.

  • just love it...great great

    hmmm...miss my parents.

  • Marty's got a bit of the TV in him.

  • You watch Keith as this starts - he shows true respect and love/understanding for this song. I have always loved Marty, but what I see from him is an entertainer performing a song, not real awe & appreciation for the song - the soulful melody and the heart-wrenching words. Maybe that's the difference between their ages & years singing before audiences. Either way, it was great. Gave me a new appreciation for Keith Urban.

  • Marty Stuart is the best thing going today. His show is the best too boot!

  • You folks with the profane lanuage need to remember kids get on here.

  • Do'nt disagree with comments regarding relative talent. KU just isn't in Marty's league. But they have great harmony on this song and they stayed true to the song and didn't try to "modernize" it..

  • perfect handmake music

  • lol Marty stewart ya. But keith urban isnt on the same lvl as marty

  • Comment removed

  • @RickySuave Who the fuck cares,Keith Urban sings pop music!

  • Perfect!!!

  • oh yeah they rocked it!!

  • This is as about as close to Talent as Keith Urban will ever get! That is sitting Beside of it...LOL!!

  • My Dad use 2 sing this song...miss him so, so much in memory of him 4 Farthers Day

  • Love it1 You two are great!

  • FUCK POP "CUNT"RY!!!! Reinstate Hank and stop promoting this sissy garbage! Hank iii's music is where its at!! He can sing his grandpas music better anyway!!

  • kieth urban cant sing hank haha

  • classy

  • Wow !! that is good .

  • they r great together & hot too . they should do more together

  • Nice sounding Harmonies!

  • My farther use to listen to that song when I was a kid. I was playing my guitar one day and that song just came into my head and started to play it about 30 years later and that session was just awsome. thank you .

  • Marty Stuart is such a great Mandolin player. I still prefer Hank William's version to this one, but it's better than I thought.

  • that was kick ass

  • Hey, Marty Stuart and Keith Urban are phenominal and excellent instrumentalilts.

  • lol at the little ditz that started cheerin when Keith Urban started.

You know it's funny, all them broads are there just to see him and are probably wondering "Who is the guy beside him with the 80's hair?" Not realize that that guy beside Keith Urban is the only REAL country singer between the two of them.

  • @Anaheimfan

totally agree. those little chicks don't have a clue.

    keith's a good player, though/

  • wow thats was awesome!

  • Why are you all beating up on each other?

This is an exquisite performance of a great song. One reason it's so good is that it takes a song, which like all great songs are probably played and recorded too much, and makes it fresh.

  • Oh yes! one year today the downtown performance that i thought would never end i wonder if Jack remembers being on that live stage with such a great audience.

    Cheers

  • pittresident stfu . keep your bs comments 2 yourself.

  • My girlfriend (and the love of my life) got me a signed guitar by Marty (and Merle) for Christmas! Just blew me away!

  • Wow, by all the comments you post your pretty unkind. Yes I have a picture of them signing it.

  • Lucky you man! I wish I had a girlfriend like that!

  • We are actually on this video and i still love to watch the show. It was such an amazing show!!!1

  • ha yeah actually i was. its a close of my husband and i. so thank you very much. btw. its at 1:34.

  • we need a duets album from these two!

  • Marty, we love your music. It brings back so many memories; memories that I thought had been lost to time. Thank you for sharing your God gven talent. Don

  • I just wish hank sr. would get reinstated in the grand ole opry=[ sad sad

  • That midnight train...

  • good music..country enough for me

  • GavDuggan, you are dead on. Nashville and New country, should hang their head in shame.

  • I hate to see 'Artists' like Urban singing songs by Hank etc. They clearly have no love or respect for real country judging by their own output. It's so cynical, they don't even know what country music is, just the pop-rock trash that the CMA forces down everyone's ears.

  • So true!

  • Great duet. Marty's mandolin is as sweet as it gets.

  • One of the best Country songs ever written! What pain Hank must have been in to write such a heart-wrenching song!

  • Great collaboration! :) Thank you!

  • This is good. Still one of the best versions of this song was by a country artist from the early 80s named Gary Morris. Gary has one of greatest voices ever. Look him up if you have never heard him.

  • Keith crosses all genres. He is amazingly talented. His concert was the best I have ever seen. It felt a little like a rock concert, a pop concert, and a country music concert all in one. And to top all of that off he is a genuine and authentic human being.

  • He doesn't cross into the country music genres and if you think so, then you don't know country music.

  • Keith is all about country- Im not so sure he compliments "old country" all that well,,,but,- i think he offers lots to the new age of country._ I;ve seen him in concert- although he isn't in my top 5- He has the prestegious honour of being my number one concert outing! ( Kenny.Chesney- was the main show)

  • be careful with your words jerk,... get to know first keith urban, hes an inspiration for a modern country music...hes the best...i repeat his the best....

  • yeah keith isnt country. marty is amazing, such a good country singer, keith is a very good singer too, but he sure aint no country singer.

  • i agree 100%

  • Don't be disappointed with Marty, he probably had no say in it whatsoever; knowing the Opry, he got told "You WILL sing with Keith Urban". Keith has a great voice, and if he tried he could probably make some decent country music.......

    *waits....*

  • this is a nice duet, too bad it wasn't released as a duet, probably woulda done nicely.

  • It`s one off the best song ever made...

  • That's great. They sound terrific together.

  • I just LOVE that song !!! They should records that in a studio !!!

  • great version!

  • I saw Marty in my hometown of Saltville, Virginia yesterday. He plays a pretty good show.

  • I love Marty to death. He is the man

  • i always liked kieth urban songs but also thought they were kinda karaoke and then i went to a concert for another artist a few years back and he had an 1 1/2 to play and he was incredible. Now hes one of my favorites.

  • Pure country. Very haunting. Love the instruments on this one.

  • Beautiful harmony.....

    raw and natural.....

    blunders and all....

    absolutely lovely!!!!

  • Two of country's most talented artists right there :)

  • @aglarnim not two, just one artist and one wannabe

  • @aglarnim - great performance ... loved it..

  • I Love Marty Stuart AND Keith Urban; this is a great video! Thanks for posting it!

  • yeah I def love Marty... I remember going to see him in concert like 8 times growing up! LOVE HIM

  • love marty...but could do without keith...

  • marty and will alwayss be an awesome singer,, keith , i like him doing these older songs better than what he sings todya

  • Great vid! I heart Marty...to me he is one of the most underrated country talents. I saw him in 1994, and he was a true professional. Wish he'd come to Mobile soon.

  • i think he is going to have a baby, I mean his wife!!! martinmary555 catch my video

  • If he's still married to the woman he was, there's no way he's going to have a baby. She's MUCH older than him. I don't remember her name, but she was a country music star when he was just a boy. He met her and proclaimed that's who he was going to marry, and when he grew up, he did marry her. I want to say her name might be Connie Smith, but not sure.

  • I mean Keith, not Marty!!! martinmary555 catch my video

  • I love Marty .. passed him in the international concourse in Atlanta... We had eye contact only... I did not realise who he was until the gate agent paged "John Stuart"...I always brag now that I got to sleep with Marty Stuart .... of course it was a flight from ATL to ZrH and he was about 5 rows above me.

  • WOW!! Thank you for a GREAT post!!

  • So good to see Marty is still around!!!

  • Hopefully .. Marty will be around for a long long time.

  • I was there the night they did this. It was GREAT!

  • I like old hank...he was real and down to earth man. Then when the 3 hanks sang...old hank came alive again.

  • I still love Hank's version the best... But these guys kill it.. They sound great together. Classic song, great tribute to a pioneer... I forgot how good Mary really was, and Keith is one of the better "new" country stars...

  • I grew up on this music and think this rendition is wonderful.

  • great song !

  • love love love!

  • Beautifully done..!!

  • First decent song i ever seen Keith Urban sing. As for Marty........rock on brother!

  • Hank Williams wrote this song, they do it well!!! martinmary555 catch my video

  • Keith and Marty were wonderful. It's good to hear the old songs and remember the talent from the past. Great Entertainment!

  • Marty is a class act...as for Keith...well...modern country is what they call it I guess.

  • I love the mandolin, its my favorite instrument..... =}
