Nice video :) Not a lot of wind noise... I would like to buy a '66 or '65 one. I'm seriously considdering it. Since I live in Europe, and i don't want to ship one from the US, I have a very limited offer, and I've picked one out already. Tell me please (if you know), what is the fuel consumption of a 3,3l (120HP) one? Thank you very much!
@InfinityNS I live in Europe too, but i have ´68 with V8 289cui (4,7l) I don´t know what is the fuel consumption 200cui (3,3l), but my mustang is consumption 19l/100km. Where are you from?
@InfinityNS I have a 69 250 inline 6 and I'm getting about 23 mpg on average. so you can rest assured knowing you'll have good fuel economy. roughly 25-30 mpg
@PaPaja12 Yes, I know. i was telling what it would have been in mph if the gauge actually read in kph, just to show how ridiculous that would be. I'm not sure many American V8's would have a top speed speedometer of 50-70 mph, know what I mean?
Not sure I believe your speed calibration... The car only reved to what sounded like 4000 rpm in second gear and you hit 75 mph lol. This really looks to me (and i've been around this stuff long enough to know) like a dramatic speedo miscalibration. Your car goes from 100 - 120 WAY faster than a 289 is capable of.
@gtdrummerdude This car probably has the standard gear ratio(either 2.70 or 2.80), which would make it pretty believable. My GMQ has 2.73s and can do 75 in 2nd, and the 4R70W has shorter 1st and 2nd gears compared to any non O/D Ford auto. I wouldn't bother trying to read it after 100 anyways, look at how bad it wobbles back and forth.
I'm gettign a 67 with a 289 and C4, it has a cam and headers and a 4bbl carb. Is there a way you can make the auto shift at higher rpms? It seems it shifts a little low, idk.
I have a 1968 Mustang with a 390 4sp. that I totalled out about two weeks after a year-and-a-half, 10,000 resto. (sad). I managed to roughly clock it, and it did 0-60 in about 5 to 6 seconds. It was powerful and very fun. My advice is drive safe. Nice car; I like the 67-68 body styles the best.
can I ask what gears you are running? I have a GTO with 3:90's and I want to go to something like 3:23 so I'm not taching so high on the highway. This looks good and it seems to top out somewhere around 130 or 140. Currently I'm turning 4000 at about 90.
Not bad. Drop in a T5 and it makes a world of a difference. I'm nowhere close to a mechanic but I still managed to convert my 67 hardtop with a c4 to a T5 with a hydraulic clutch setup in 3 days. Spent almost 2 grand in parts including new driveshaft. Worth it. Feels like a speed boat on the freeway LOL.
Its just your speedo cable needs replaced. Anyways, dude, do not drive that fast again. The old steering/suspension on them is poor. Nothing like newer cars, but much cooler You will end up in a bodybag, sadly, your friend too :( Yes, i know stangs rather well......fair warning.
congrats to u for figuring out that this car has automatic trans. i was clever enough to figure that out also. these old cars could also be manualy shifted from 1st to 2nd to 3rd with selector so that u could let the car rev out more rather than it auto shifting at 3500. papaja u know nothing about cars obviously
u right "these old cars could also be manualy shifted from 1st to 2nd to 3rd with selector" but this drive is just with D, i can not use 1st, 2nd and 3rd
yes these old cars some times have those selections, but by shifting like the way you suggested you would eventually tear the shit out of that tranny, they are not meant for you to use them like that, and it is shifting at about 3500 maybe 3800 rpm and that is about right for a 289 with a c4 transmission.
just shut up guy hes out for a cruise not a drag race. and even if he was its plenty fast enough to enjoy himself. I always just throw old muscle cars into drive and cruise. they are retired and just wanna relax haha.
