  • I tried it for the first time today- pretty good.

  • For hot summer days there is nothing better than a Hefeweizen - and yes, they usually come in 0,5 liter bottles (you have a 0,3L bottle?) and so are the glasses, 0,5L in a beergarden, you just cant beat that. Happy beertasting!

  • Don't speak with your mouth full!

  • dont put down the mexican beer. Modelo and Dos X are great. You just have to try so you can find out.

  • just had one last night with some pretzels. Thank god for the beer distributer here, this beer is sort of difficult to find here. Cheers from white plains, NY.

  • George knows good beer!

    Greetings from Munich. :)

    (Drinking Franziskaner right now.)

  • I was just on the phone with him I'll let him know.

  • I had my first Franziskaner in a downtown Munich pub last year! I still drink them, imported! AWSOME BEER

  • i also love the alcohol content.

  • one of my fav beers. i started drinking it in college. I also like Spaten and Paulaner beers. The only american beer that i like is Samuel Adams. Makes me thirsty!!

  • Its been a wile since I'v had Spaten and Paulaner , Ill have to pick those up.

  • Great job. I felt like I was sitting at the bar with a couple of buddies. Why do they make these beers that are so hard to remember the name?

  • Very good review.Another interesting looking beer to track down.

I havn't tried many German beers, although the two i have tried really knocked me out...!

Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier and the truly awesome Schneider Aventinus....

  • Thanks Ill have to ad theSchneider Aventinus to the list of ones to try.

  • german hefs are gross. Americans make better wheats.

  • I'm the opposite. I hate most American wheat beers, and love German hefeweizens. Unlike German hefes, most American wheat beers are fermented with a neutral ale yeast, so there's no banana, clove, or bubblegum flavors, just the sour, lemony, grainy wheat flavors that I don't care for. The only American wheat beer that i've tried and like is Southern Tier's Heavy Weizen. I think it's brewed with a German weizen yeast strain, because it has the flavors associated with German hefes.

  • The ABV of Franziskaner is 5.0% Tell your friend to try the Maisel Weisse its great. Norm, you might not care for it but if you like the style, Maisel follows it perfectly. They also make a Kristall which is a filtered Hefe. The strongest wheat beer I have tried so far is Clipper city brewing Hang Ten, Weizen Dopplebock it's 10%

  • So many Beers to try so little time. I'll look for those.

  • IFor sure. Rogue Moms Hefeweizen. German hefs are actual hefs. i refer to them as american wheats because they taste so different from one and another that they both shouldnt be called hefs. I do enjoy the Pyramid IMPERIAL HEF. not the regular pyramid hef but the imperial one. You will enjoy it way more than what you just had there.
