  • I tried to get this to work but all the graphics were out of wack

  • @awkwardaznx Which is why you should always shut down compiz before you play games in linux.

Add shortcuts for metacity --replace and compiz --replace. So that you can turn compiz off and on before and after you play the game.

  • could you do a star trek online wine video just went free to play

  • I didn't watch the video yet but does L4D2 run nicely as well? How about the multiplayer mode, works fine?

    Thanks!

  • @Mkbu l4d2 remake soon, multiplayer worked last time i tried it! :)

  • @Mkbu Im playing L4D2, in ubuntu 11.10, and everything works flawlessly

  • I want to thank you for taking the time to review how well games work on Linux.

I am envious though, as my Steam can't run well without crashing and closing down.

I actually have a great custom PC, but I need to run Windows for my gaming currently.

Maybe in the future, with a newer Wine, I can run it well enough to play these games.

  • @RyanScfc1 Thanks for the comment, have you tried Playonlinux? I installed Steam through playonlinux, and after installing it ran it through wine....works great!

  • @Jakejw93 Yes I have. However it is very unstable. Perhaps I should try running it on a different Desktop Environment. But first I will have to find out how to get my AMD HD Radeon to work on Gnome...
