  • i thought i invented these :/

  • damn! ill try

  • i think u should do 50 a day for 8 weeks because my friends got a frikin 8 pack

  • does it give u a 6 or 4 pack??

  • could u do this by putting ur feet under ur couch and lifting ur upper body off the floor and twisting side 2 side

  • @colemurdy yea, when not at the gym, at home I have a physio ball that i sit on with my feet under the couch. I lean my upper body back until the abs get tight then I go to work. Killin' my abs! You could do it without a physio ball too.

  • i did this one w/ med ball like 130 time

    u try that

  • How many sets and reps?

  • i guess how many u can,lol

  • @anyproblems123 I do 4*50 to each side without any barbell/dumbell/medball/kettlebell or something. Great exercise, really great!

  • hes lowering the ball beyond the twist. and if thats as far as his midsection twists then he should stop lowering the ball.

  • yeah its an oblique exercise, not a deltoid exercise lol.

  • exactly.

  • perfect. just what i was looking for. and helpful comments too

  • i want to increase my explosive power, would i be better off doing this exercise fast?

  • no, do more compound lifts, cleans or snatches. those train ur ENTIRE body for explosion

  • no, just add reps, AND heavier ball... xexe

  • I can only do 15, with an incline, with 5 pound weights

  • In the video, you'll need to keep the weight IN FRONT of your chest. Otherwise, its just your arms doing the work. Watch at the end of the movement when you turn... your upper body stops turning, and its your arms that bring the weight the rest of the way down, while your obliques contract statically. Keeping the weight directly in front of the chest at all times ensures your arms are contracting statically (as they should) and your obliques are doing the work.

  • Great tip.. I been wondering lately I if could find a way to check up on my technique in this exercise. This might work:)

  • how many wit da 25 lb dumbbell?

  • Great excercise for fighters, works rotational strength.

  • Do you know of any other good exercises for fighters? Always looking for new ideas. Thanks for the comment.

  • Yea, reverse Russian twists, saxon side bends, and free style 1 arm rows. In the free style, you bend over at the waist without a bench so your back is parallel with the floor, resting the non working hand on a knee, and do 1 arm rows as normal, only you're going to put a LOT of body rotation into it. This is another good way to work your obliques.

  • @viator22 Are there any other rotational exercises involving weight and or cables?

  • @badderthanyou Sure, lots of them. Sledgehammer swings on tractor tires are great from different angles and grips. Judo uchikomis (partial throw repetitions) with a tire inner tube or blast straps. Barbell twists, with the bar in a corner. I like to take a small medicine ball in one hand and throw it into a bag like a straight. Similarly, suitcase deadlifts or any unilateral lifting is gonna help your core stability and strength. Check out Rosstraining for even more, not enough space here.

  • @viator22 Thanks!

  • Cool video, I always wondered if I had proper form while doing Russian Twists, now I know. Thanks.

  • thank you for showing the video, I love it bro

  • Yes, it's unparalleled. Use a 25 pound dumbbell and you will see phenomenal results.

  • I would like to encourage people to perform this rarely seen exercise. It does a great job when it comes to developing some abs, whether it is muscle mass or strenght you want to improve, this is what you are looking for. Try to use a barrel with some liquid as a weight, just makes it more hardcore.
