@skoghallskins3 If you're just playing by yourself it can be fun to include other parts in your playing, this was one of the first songs I learned on bass, but if I was playing it by myself I'd also emulate some of the cooler parts of the guitar line, just for fun. Chill out with the bass-patriotism and just have fun with what you play.

Anthrax although I've seen them on countless occasions over the years have never managed to hit the same peak they did when they just released 'a fistful of metal'.

@AttilaBlasphemer Well they don't actually keep the beat, they support the drums. You've got Guitarists and vocalists up at the top, and somewhere in the middle you've got you're drummers. Right at the very bottom you've got bass players. But you're quite right about Burton, he was pretty talented for a bassist. I've personally never held to a bass player for more than a couple of months. On our demo's I played the bass parts myself so I didn't have to draft one of them in. Can't stand them.

the high pitched bit in the intro is done on bass by rob, because both james an kirk hold the heavy Em power chord at the intro - learn who has each part before tryin to teach them on the worng instrument. There are plenty of live vid on youtube that can back me up

I believe that the part on the 3rd string that starts on the 7th fret right after the very first set of notes is actually played on the bass with distortion & wa-wa.
