Mine cracked this week and leaked 70 gallons on the floor. Ruined EVERY floor in the house. Probably why they discontinued it.....

@ShannonV3 I guess you were very unlucky mate, I had 2 tanks crack on me in the past usually my fault in having a unstable base.. IE Tiny bit of gravel under the glass, or no foam under it or maybe the stand being uneven.. Hard lessons to learn. Repairable by just siliconing a thick slab of glass over the crack and starting over. (If the wife will let you..) :) Replace the stand or use thicker under tank polystyrene or foam to even out the base dont let it put you off aquariums! good luck.

Mayo, if you search for VadoVoodoo in YouTube you'll see that that was an early setup that evolved over the year.. BTW marines? Been there, done that.. :) I loved them but they really are beyond my budget and beyond the time needed to invest in servicing tanks cleaning skimmers testing daily, cost of salt, oh just turned out to be more hard work, I mean I have other hobbies too, I mean when would I find time to fly my RC Models? :)

Very nice tank mate. Thinking of settingg up a 155 as a marine setup. Is the light unit adjustable for height at all? And would you say the filter is good? Thanks.

@Witheraf The light unit is indeed adjustable it can be raised lowered or place further back or forward mines forward and low the reasoning being that if i wanted to add lamps i could stick them behind the original fitting as I am unlikely to find a duplicate thats cheap enough. So when I fit a standard mylar reflector (Someday..) then it wont be so visible from the front. The Fluval 305 has totally fulfilled it's purpose but I did supplement it with a Fluval IV internal. @Kithornt You know I wished I could answer that! I read somewhere there were early build problems, but every other Osaka owner I have found on the web loves the tank, lights and stand and thinks like me that the build quality is superb! All I know is now I own something unique and desireable that has the "Wow" factor as well ! :)

@vunday Wish i could say.. I just love mine the curved glass and open top are great features and the cabinet and lamps and filters supplied are just quality.

Great information - what a pretty aquarium. It was good to see the top of the tank up close. Hmm, what about fish that jump?

Yeah that's happened four times so far the "Sky divers.." have been four guppies and one Otocinctus cat.. (Tiny thing..) Only managed to rescue one Guppie and flipped him onto a piece of card and got him back in no harm done. But all the others were found dried up. :( Acceptable casualties i think over a year.. Guess that's the price of an open topped tank. - Evaporation happens too but it's well manageable. :) Glad u liked it!

Hi id love to get one but there very expensive! im looking a juwel rio 180 because thats all i have space for in my sitting room, i love the curved edge my tank at the moment has the same curved it's an aqua one620 its only a 90ltr so thats why im shopping around :)

I just bought a Fluval Vicenza 180 litres, its nice tho i do love yours. Shame they stopped doing them.

Cheers MrWright24, I didn't know they'd stopped making it, but I do know it's still available all over google. :) They did make a very nice job of the curve in the glass, and the cupboard is a sturdy bit of useful kit for the tank. To tell the truth I umm'd and aaa'd between the Vicenza range and the Fluval and only went for the Fluval after spotting one in a local store. Fell in love and bought it. :) Hope you love yours too! :)

hi, the reason it is still very cloudy is because the output nozzle for the filter is beside the intke nozzle, and the intake will take the cleaned water out. that happened at me dads work, he has the 155l and has three ryukins in it. the filter worked after he put the pipes on the opposite sides. i have a tank the same size as the fluval edge and a U1 filter. fluval filters are quite good.

Nah m8 it's cause the tank was only set up 2 days.. :) The outlet points away from the inlet so couldnt be that .. :)

Hi i have got the 320 version and they are lovely tanks. How many bags of the eco-complete did you use as im thinking of changing mine to that.

@dhallam56 I remember firstly running it with four bags and after another week I found I had to add another bag to allow levels of gravel to be raised here and there so I could plant certain plants deeper in the corners etc. So the tally came to 5 bags.. I could add another at the moment but am planning on adding large stones and some wood so may need less rather than more.

Cheers for that have got 4x 20lb bags on order as i did start using akadama bonsai soil as a substrate but it has gone shitty after a few months so have treated myself for Christmas :-)

Hope my plants do as good as yours, i am using liquid c02 also and a small 2ltr diy c02 mix also but my plants are not doing as well as yours.

hey there i was lookin up new tank to upgrade from my 60l tank n saw this 1 on the sea pets web n at the same time me dad was like wow son look at this n it was the same 1 as i saw this tank so im relly lookin foward to payday n gettin this tank just 1 question is the filter loud or does it make a slite hmmmm plz wb

There is a very slight hum from the filter, but to be honest you would get that from any filter that has a moving part and shifts that much water... I guess if you are really super sensitive to sound then you could stand it on a foam pad or something. But really it's hard to hear unless you are living in a crypt or something :)

why do you put the lights so low? just wondering as i have mine too high i think!

I hung them as close as the supplied hooks would allow because you can lose wattage the further away they are.. I figured heck I'm paying for them... :) BTW the plants are now thick and healthy looking in most cases, I have added more javas, and another bag of substrate... Its doing great.
