did you get her dyno'd? mine is going on the dyno next week and i have a similar set up; FMIC, 3" exhaust, greddy emanage ultimate, and 7psi until i get the hks wastegate actuator... want to know what kind of WHP to expect, hoping 240 or better
hey man, no I haven't put her on a dyno yet (in 4 years, I know, what a waste.)
I am expecting around 250 at 7 PSI on stock manifold, but I think with a greddy intake and a good ECU / tune it should be close to 280 at 7 PSI.
I just got all suspension situated, planning on building motor this winter, but I definitely need better than a stage 1 clutch even at the current power level.
@BradleyType lol yeah im on a stage 3 which is very adequate at the moment, unfortunately hasn't been dyno'd still because i'm blowing couplings on my intercooler :( i'll reply again when the side mount goes back on and she is dyno'd wish me luck!
To be honest the car looks like shit on the outside, but you can tell that theres a reason. Mainly to make it look good and perform well on the INSIDE.
@ambee514 ASC made the coupes into convertibles, basically all US sold convertibles were done by ASC.
In japan, the S13 convertible was a retractable hard top. MUCH better setup than the corny ragtops we got in the US. That and the silly door/seatbelt reels. I own a 92 'vert with the same front end swap as the one in the video and a shitty SR, so no, I'm not talking trash about someone else's car. Beautiful swap BTW, makes me miss my old RB5 coupe
@S13Sldewayz ive never heard of a retractable hardtop s13 dude, they had a normal convertible in japan, i think it had a cover for when the top was down so it looked neater , but it was a canvas style top, they did a retractable hardtop on the s15 though, it was the Varietta
@sandmridergt i dont understand why people put rb20's in 240s when they can put sr20's in and they bolt right up and there are sooo many parts for them in the states...are there any significant differences between the two?
wonderful car but you shift like a grandma.

i hope youve replaced the oil pump mine had the same whining until i replaced the oil pump
lucasalan112505 11 months ago
@lucasalan112505
Yeah, so that may have been the case for you, but both my oil and water pump were brand new and N1...
it was pure belt whine from a failing RB25 power steering pump which I later switched to a KA24DE pump hence why only noticeable at idle...

no offense, but i obviously didn't build the car to be pretty. might want to pick you up a honda if you're looking for approval from the masses.

@Donutman12345
the 240sx convertibles are very rare fewer then 9,000 were made over the three years that they sold it and it was only sold in the US.

well a majority of the people who know what an rb sounds like would recognize the sound, so it wouldnt be a sleeper if one of those people heard it.

hey nice set up. how do you like the rb25? im thinking about doin an rb20 or 25 or ka-t in my 91 but still undecided. What would you recomend?
sandmridergt 2 years ago
in 91 i would jst stick to the sr, rb is too much.. my personal opinon but all engines r nice
YuLost2X 2 years ago
ka-ts are always fun.
if i had to do it again i'd toss an ls1 in though.

@s14sr240silvia yes, RB20s are heavier. i don't get that swap either. at least with rb25 you get 25% more displacement.
