the main thing i've noticed about the little martin, is that it projects so well in comparison to larger martins. it's a great little guitar, but not for those with big hands!
@kdavis0660 The Martin. There are different reasons why I say this, but the top one probably is because the Baby Taylor neck is screwed in with screws at the fretboard. what the H right? Bad for tone.
@hydralisk3313 Personally, I think the Baby Taylor sounds better than the Little Martin. If you didn't like the look of the screws, that would be one thing, but whether or not the screws affect the tone is totally subjective. By the same token, do you not think Martin's neck made of laminated strips of wood is bad for tone?
@emgcarra a good question. i have the LXM (laminate top) Koa model and i just love it (even though it's a little small for my ham-hands!) the action was a bit high from the factory, but i sanded down the underside of the saddle and now it's perfect. intonation is beautiful and tone is great for the size (though not quite comparable to a full-size guitar). it's the Martin name, i think, that drives the price up. they do make quality guitars. cheers! -- Peter

They have a great sound. I have tried it before. Taylor has a small one just like it and it sounds just as good as the Martin.
