  • All of the Avenger hero movies are Very close for me, but I would have to say Capt. America was probably my favourite. Incredible Hulk or Thor is probably next, and Iron Man a millimeter behind.

I thought Chris Evans was great. Much better in Captain America than Craptastic 4.

  • Douche!

  • you absolutely have to know that they've been doing movies for each avenger and then the avengers movie to enjoy this film ...

  • I thought the movie was okay, and was kind of expecting more since this is one of the first marvel heroes ever, finally getting his own movie. I agree that it felt more like a build up rather than a stand alone movie as well. This movie would be confusing to most people who aren't die hard fans like I am, such as knowing that the "tessarect" is called the Cosmic Cube in the comics or any of the characters who become future villains. My favorite so far is a tie between incredible hulk and ironman

  • No offense anybody but I didn't really like Captain America I was expected 2 much I guess. And the parts that I loved in the trailer was kind of crappy in the movie but that 's just my opinion

  • hmmmmm

  • actually hawkeye is coming out in the avengers and marvel hasnt made a movie of him

  • I agree with you that it would have been a totally different movie if it wasn't leading up to the Avengers. One, he wouldn't have had to be frozen so soon, and they could have expanded on his story during WWII instead of rushing it. I thought Hayley Atwell was amazing and the actor who played Howard Stark was great as well.

  • The movie was awesome I saw it over the summer and it was the best and my 7 year sister luvs captain America, but the plot kinda confused a little bit like had me lost but I still loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

    -divaray522:D

  • only the first half of the movie was.....pretty good. not amazing. The rest of the movie was bad action scenes

  • The First Avenger was easily my favoret Avengers Hero films.

  • I actually loved this movie so much that I saw it THREE times, twice in 2D, and the last time in 3D, and I NEVER EVER watch a movie more than once.

  • I didn't like it that much. I enjoyed it but in the middle i got a bit bored, i feel as if it was dragged on a bit. Overall its no the best movie ever, and i probably wont be watching it any time soon again but again i liked it but its just not really the best movie.

  • your face is fukin ugly

  • i truly loved this movie i just saw it tonight and it was amazing. what did you think about captain america missing his date and do you think they will some how carry on peggy in to the avengers film or other films if they release any or do you think they will just drop her charater?

  • the like/dislike bar looks like a pencil

  • The last line from the Cap himself: "It's just.. I had a date."

    *Cut to credits.*

  • And By the way Iron man, Thor, and all the other avengers movies were WAY better than this. I liked Iron man the best. That was an amazing movie, and I also loved the second.

  • I usually agree with you. But to be honest, I HATED this movie. I thought it was basically a guy on superhero steroids. There was no excitement to him BECOMING Captain America. In Batman, Spider Man, Superman, Iron Man, they all have scenes that show them learning to become the superhero, testing out there powers. This movie had none of that. It was so unrealistic that he all of a sudden knew how to fly that ship at the end, fight like that, have all that skill. Where did he learn to do that? No

  • what was the last line of the movie?!?!

  • @MrMusicM67 Something like "the year is (i forget), Cap. you've been asleep for a very long time."

But this movie was a letdown! I love Marvel and am a huge fan of Captain America comics, but I must say Joe Johnston really killed this movie.

It should have been more gritty and bad ass, but they spent so much time making Captain America the performer, that I didn't notice when he turned into a hero. A good idea taken too far. It was good, but still,

Fuck you Joe Johnston! You killed the dream!

  • the only avenger they didnt make a movie for is hawkeye isnt it? or have i just completely lost my mind

  • @cjavengers cap crashed the redskulls plane into the Arctic circle and was frozen in cryogenic stasis.

  • rumored scene in the Avengers: Very beginning Captain America is in a scene by him self in a military Uniform not his costume and he is a apartment type building in London and he dances with Peggy when she is in her 80s? sooooooo

  • how did he go forward in time? please let me know! he was supposed to get frozen not be asleep! btw, has anyone ever told you that you look kinda like andrew garfield?

  • Thor and Captain America were lackluster as hell.

Iron Man is the most solid of the 'Avengers' line of films thus far. Though, I do prefer The Incredible Hulk over all four films.

  • @RaybertJ101 "I had a date."

  • Wait what was the last line? I saw the movie but i don't remember!

  • they do the first avenger last! thumbs up if u agree

  • HULK SMASH!!!!!!!

  • I hated the end. I mean, they should have done the dancing.

  • To your point that the movie seemed incomplete/anticlimactic, I would say that Cap abruptly being frozen in the ocean actually happens in the comics as well. I'd even argue that this ending was more of an ending than his being frozen in the comics. (To me at least)

  • i just finished watching the movie(epic) and i watched this vid right after

  • i loved that film, i went to see it earlier today and it was epic, a lot more violent than i thought it would be. i stayed a whole 10 mins after the film ended just to see the aftwr credits scene and it was worth it! cant wait for the evengers and The Amazing Spider-man.

  • one thing i dont get,if howard stark was like 20 back in the 1940's how old is tony? did howard have him when he was like 60 or what?

  • also when he looks at the kid that was tossed in the water, was kinda funny when the kid said its ok i can swim, yet the kid looked like he was struggling lol the look the capt gave was kinda funny like ok good, see you later

  • i felt the end of the movie was rushed , the start of it should have been longer and showed more, i liked it, the very end where they showed the preview for avengers was kinda cool. did they have use a small stunt double and just put chris's face over it? or was it just ALOT of CGI?

  • @sevenguiry

A lot of CGI, they actually SHRUNK chris evans' down with CGI, it's very amazing when you think about it.

  • i liked the ending, but i didnt like captain america his just a supersoldier his a tad bit boring.

  • whats with that line at the end of the credits where it says captain america will return in the avengers or thor will return in the avengers. they did not do that for iron man 2 and the incredible hulk.

  • i fell asleep in the movie, the fight between thor and loki is when it happened, and i woke up at the end, lol, not saying it was the movie, i was tired, it was a late night, and i jst sorta fell asleep, there were things i didnt really like, but i liked it alot more then i thought i would. not a big thor fan

  • well maybe like you went in knowing it was a lead up to the avengers, adn you were sorta expecting that, so you just unknowngly thought of it that way while you were watching.

  • this movie really surprised me. its the best avengers movie ive seen since the original iron man. i hope the avengers turns out well because i didnt think the trailer was very good.

  • i total agree with this review,i have much in comon with this guy,i love comics and super heros, cant wait for spider man:)but i dont know cap very well, all inj all good ass movie great review great dude

  • yesss the ending was awesome, pretty tragic but awesome though my friend disagreed, she was so sad about it lol. but I think its a good kind of sad :)

  • this movie is fucking awsome

  • I thought the movie was pretty cool. However. I wish Captain America fought better and showed more of his Super Soldier abilities. He needed to be more agile and more acrobatic like in the comics. It lacked what made Cap America cool which was his unique way of fighting.

  • Thor!:)

  • Really Awesome Movie. The ending was so cool.My dad thought of something smart

after the movie. You know how Howard Stark was in the movie well CA`s Girlfriend could have been married with him and been Tony Stark`s Mother. That`s just a guess, but anyway the only two things I had The action just a suddenly happened without warning and at some points it got boring.

  • i was surprised at how much Howard Stark did in the movie!i thought he would just play a minor part as to being the host of the expo and doing the tests. but then he had so much more in the movie. it makes me feel like Tony and Cap are gonna have some things to talk about. awesome :3

  • the avengers trailer was after credits

  • i enjoyed the ending too

  • FAIL. i just saw the film with 5 of my friends and every one of us found it boring. there is not many action scenes and the films drags on. if you have high expectations for this film you should lower them. it is no where near as good as Spiderman, Batman or THOR.

  • Where am i really?

  • Such a serious epic FAIL :( i am so disappointed. and the last bit was the worst. "i had a date" fail. and the random parts that dont make sense... referring to right before CA get on the red dude space ship the horrible woman and military dude come out of no where with a rescue cr when it quite obvious that would be impossible due to the fact THERE IS A FREAKING WAR GOING ON. hope that The Avengers is better

  • So where's Nick Fury?

  • Hated the ended, would've been better ended on the black screen a few minutes before.

  • ohh, from what i heard from everybody else they all said the ending sucked- but you said that it was great. except no one is tellling me how it endsssss, how does it end tell me please haha

  • @Ballbreaker987 The Captain crash's Red Skulls flying ship in the ice. Then about 70 years later he is found by Nick Fury and they basically added him on the Avengers Team.

  • Iron Man!

  • What was anti climactic about the film?

  • Captain America was my favorite

    my least favorite was Thor

  • i thought it kinda sucked it was okay for what it was but nowhere near what i would call awesome, i liked the x men movie more than this but it was a lot better than say the green lantern which really sucked i hope spiderman gets marvel back on point.

  • Ehh. Avengers looks good and all that. We want Spidy!

  • @AfghanRapper hell yea!

  • 1. Iron Man

    2. Captain America

    3. The Incredible Hulk

    4. Iron Man 2

    5. Thor

  • It wasn't necessarily because of Edward Norton (although I can't say 100%), but I failed to enjoy the Incredible Hulk. There was something about it that didn't make it feel like he should belong to this Marvel Universe, and the only thing that saved it for me was Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark in his cameo at the end. Otherwise, I absolutely love Thor and Iron Man, and they are my top two Marvel movies (excluding First Class for being unrelated to the Avengers).

  • 1. Captain America

    2. Iron Man

    3. The Incredible Hulk

    4. Thor

    5. Iron Man 2

  • I thought this was my favorite Avenger movie (not counting Iron Man 1). Iron Man 2 was so-so, as was Hulk. Never saw Thor. Captain America was really good, and stayed generally true to the comics. Red Skull was played wonderfully by Agent Smith, from the Matrix, a near perfect role for him.

  • Captain America was a good movie I did not think it was leading up to the avengers the movie was epic and a good time at the movie I already saw it two times great job marvel x-men first class is still my favorite movie if 2011

  • 1.hulk

    2.iron man

    3.Thor

    4.captain America

  • And I do agree the last line was amazing it was sooo sad :(

  • @nikepro500 Iron Man should be first thor was the worst outta all of them for sure.

  • I never thought Captain America had a real story, i always thought he just had the lead up to The Avengers.

  • I thought the movie had a a boring pacing. the villian wasn't that great. Story didn't dragged a bit. Acting was alright. Like what eric said it was leading to something but fell. Action was good though

  • it was awsome by the way did you see the after scene

  • omg captain AMERICA is so gay why does every thing have to do with america its getting annoying.

  • @Painflame818

Because America is awesome... but then i might be biased.

  • @shaunmil i have been to america and it is most certainly not awesome

  • Captain America and Thor were my favorites. I liked the 2004 Hulk better than the Edward Norton one; and Iron Man didn't do anything for me. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't terrible. I didn't really bother with the sequel. lol

  • WHO SAW CAPTAIN AMERICA'S SHEILD IN IRONMAN2 !!!!!

  • This movie was boring...

  • 1. Iron Man

    2. Captain America

    3. Thor

    4. The Incredible Hulk

    5. Iron Man 2

  • @zacharyfett 100% Agree

  • The Avengers teaser at the end was fast. I mean literally half second glimpses like Marvel was trying to plant subliminal messages of the film in my mind lol!

  • yeah i know a lot of people who though the end was dumb, but i thought it was so clever

  • I agree with you completely, except that I feel it could stand on its own too.

  • @JoKeMaN1105 They didn't make a movie for Hawkeye specifically, but they introduced him during Thor through a small cameo. Just watch the scene in Thor where he's trying to get the hammer back and you'll see Hawkeye.

  • Iron Man

    The Incredible Hulk

    Thor / Captain America

    Iron Man 2

  • hey guys in the end of captian america when they showed the preview to the avengers movie and they showed a hawkeye type charecter holding a bow and arrow, has there already been a hawkeye movie im not sure

  • @JoKeMaN1105 Hawkeye was shown in Thor. He worked for SHIELD.

  • @pavianch Oh ok thankyou so much, now that i think about it i never got to watching thor but thanks so much

  • You did stay after the credits right?

  • 1. Iron Man

    2. Captain America

    3. Iron Man 2

    4. Incredible Hulk

    5. Thor

  • 1. captain america

    2. iron man

    3. hulk

    4. thor

    5. iron man 2

  • 1. Iron Man

    2. Thor

    3. Iron Man 2

    4. Captain America

    5. Hulk

  • This movie was HORRIBLE! It was so boring. I was literally falling asleep through the movie. I was so bored I was checking my emails and reading articles on my phone. DO NOT WATCH

  • yea I thoroughly enjoyed Capttain America. Chris Evans was freaking amazing and this was by far wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Thor.

It's a tie between Iron Man and Captain America

  • Iron Man, all the way!

But the good Captain didn't dissapoint. I thought that Chris Evans brought a very sweet and charming aspect to the character that I liked so much from the comics.

  • it opens tonight here! but i'm going wednesday to let the hype die down a bit

  • Some of the effects seemed bad too me :/

  • Comment removed

  • HULK!

  • All of them

  • The only thing I saw a bit off was the fact that Chris Evans played the part; it's kind of hard to relate with him since he's already done 2 Fantastic Four movies. I would've rathered somebody else, truthfully...since he was already introduced in a Marvel movie.

I got a bet that the Fantastic Four won't be appearing in the Avengers. XD XD XD

  • @TheMadVideoer well it seems it dosent matter now because the f4 are being rebooted anyway

  • @ahzman350

    Really? Didn't know that, actually.

    How surprising...

  • Im just saying.. The Avengers better be fucking awesome.

  • i wish the last line was: Where the hell are the flying cars!? but i liked the movie

  • 1. Thor

    2. Iron Man

    3. Cap America

    4. Iron Man 2

    5. Hulk - I wasn't a fan of Hulk, I felt it could have been much better.

  • This one was my favorite, with Iron Man being #2.

I also liked Bucky more than I liked Cap.

  • Man Idk really maybe Thor or captain America haha iron man and hulk were good but these two are amazing! And the trailer for the avengers adds more excitement

  • 1.Iron Man

    2.Incredible Hulk

    3.Captain America

    4.Thor

    5. Iron Man 2

  • i agree, the movie was anticlimatic and basically a filler but i enjoyed it! Especially loved the ending when nick shows up, so pumped for the avengers!!

  • does any one know if there is anything after the credits?

  • @jackbmx21 Avengers trailer.

  • 1.The incredible Hulk

    2.Iron man

    3.Captain America

    4.Thor

    5.Iron man 2

  • Please, Please, Please!!!!

Stay AFTER the credits, captain america that night and A teaser trailer for the avengers :D

  • 1.Iron man

    2.Captain America

    3.Thor

    4.Iron man 2

    5.Mr. Hulk

  • i know exactly what you mean. me and my dad watched it, and the movie was basically just filler. nothing bad about it, but i was just waiting for the trailer after the credits. (by the way, longest fuckin credits on a movie ever. we sat there forever.) it was just a lead up to avengers. it was good fighting and stuff, but it was anti-climactic and was kind of just a drag. but my favorite part is when he throws the test grenade, and all the big dudes dip outta there, and he jumps on. perfect...

  • Every time I watch one of your videos I can't help but feel that you have somehow broken into the Nostalgia Critic's house.

  • They should have kept the Avengers Movie a secret until after all the Marvel movies come out. People would be shocked and excited. And I am also thinking a few people would spread rumors about the Avengers movie...putting it together and all. >.> Yeah.

  • "i had a date" :'(

  • I LOVED all the little nods this movie gave to Raiders... It definitely felt like an Indiana Jones movie.

  • Evans owned the role of Steve Rogers in my opinion. I was very pleased with his performance, he did a phenomenal job and I cant wait to see him share the screen with RDJ, Hemsworth and Renner.

  • LOVED Captain America! The film was so much better than I ever expected. I was first unsure of Chris Evans playing the part, but after watching him in action, I can't picture anyone else in that costume. The film is by far my favorite of the "Marvel Universe" with The Incredible Hulk and the first Iron Man coming in right behind it.

  • IM > CA > THOR > IM2 > TIH

I went to see CA at midnight and I think my theater really made the movie that much better for myself. It wasn't fully packed, it was mostly people who had read the comics or where huge fans of Marvels movies. They knew when to be quiet and when to laugh, it was just a better experience.

The one thing I will say though is that even though there were only a few of us who lined up early outside to wait to see it in 2D, there was not a soul in the 3D line.

  • Eric did you stay for the after credits AVENGERS Teaser ??

  • THOR and IRON MAN are the best....

  • 1. Captain America

    2. Iron Man

    3. Thor + Hulk (tie)

    4. Iron Man 2

  • 1. Iron Man

    2. Captain America

    3. Thor & Iron Man 2 (tie)

    4. Incredible Hulk

  • I like how Iron Man is the only one who got a sequel lol

  • @EricBoisen dude hulk got a sequel too i guess ....

  • I went at Midnight showing and it was crazy! The movie was great!

  • Captain America was my favorite of the Avenger Tie-In movies. I thought Chris Evans did an amazing job. The final sequence was even better. And that one part at the end with the smaller Hydra Plane type thing...absolutely jaw dropping. Overall I give it a 9.8.

  • God you are into all the awesome stuff!

  • America!! F**K YEAH!!

  • The ending made me think of an old fashioned style of film making, I agree that it was really well done.

  • I'm gonna go see that movie tonight :) I'm definitely looking forward to it though, and by the way your describing it I think I'll enjoy it thoroughly. :D

  • Iron Man - 9/10

    The Incredible Hulk - 8/10

Captain America: The First Avenger - 7.5/10

    Thor - 5/10

    Iron Man 2 - 4/10

I thought Chris Evans was pretty dull to be honest.

  • I saw the movie last week, I don't remember what was the last line... could you reply telling what was the last line? Also did you see the trailer for the Avengers at the end of the credits?

  • @cangriman0101 I had a date.

  • Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2

  • cap Thor Iron Man Hulk

  • Im with you, deffinately dont have much to say about Captain America. Other than the fact that Captain America fits Evan much better than the Human Torch, it was one of the better Avenger films. But I have to agree with Jstu93, "Dont worry I can swim" was the best line.

  • 1. Thor

    2. Captain America

    3. Iron Man

    4. The Incredible Hulk

    5. Iron Man 2

  • @nikepro500 Really? I thought Thor was the worst...
