My german shepherd is looking same to same, but he died before 2 days , in my hands , double coated shepherds have only 6 years to live , they cannot survive much than this, i m in great shock, after his death,
But dude 6 years? there is NO difference between the original gs and the long haired one other than the coat, they are breed for the same job , they are used in the police, search and rescue and all the other things just like the standard version
They usually live 10 years or more is they are being cared for , that means exercising the dog, giving him the right food , giving him a job , and if no other health problems occur.
@1000wellwisher I am saddened by your loss, but coat length has NOTHING to do with longevity. Whoever told you that has his/her head so far up his/her ass that he/she can eat their own brekfast twice. The long coat is no longer even considered to be a "flaw" on the European show circuit. You do have to be a little more careful in temperature extremes than with "standard" GSD's, and combing and brushing 2x a day is a must. But apart from that, longcoats are just like any other GSD.

@hottestpapa06 this video its not an obediance video its just a video about my dog with some pictures and a video...he knows sit,stay,down and bite/release on command and actually i am very proud of him because i only get to see him one day every 2 weeks and still he remembers the commands so please stop messing around
@cameronmpear I spend my easter/summer vacations with the dog, my free weekends , he's mine , I train him but most of the time my grandmother takes care of him , like feeding him , grooming and petting. He lives with her because she has a really big yard , and because I think it would be cruel to have a dog his size live in an apartment in the middle of the city. He'll live with me after I move to the new house were I have a nice yard for him

@jllevin1 yeah but yours are working American lines they are slightly smaller but mine is a working eastern germany shepherd

Mine has like 35-40 kilograms now at 1 year and 2 months
