  • Hi arzadi11

Your response is a very refreshing change from the kind I am growing tired of finding on YouTube - crude insults, slanging matches... I don't want to read that stuff anymore and it got to the point where I didn't use YouTube for a while.

Now that I'm checking things out again, there's a flood of stuff (classic blues and rock & roll and jazz - it's all the same to me) I've not seen before. This is one of them - and it's great.

Many thanks to Radge1965 for posting this gem!

  • @guitarandharp Thank you for your kind response! i truly meant it, love can't be pretentious... your music is the artistic expression of your true love...

  • musicians back then were NOT pretentious at all, they were natural, but today's music is all about pretentions. love can't be pretentious.

  • @arzadi11 not pretentious?where are you from? in USA all we had was pretentious mf's let me give you some names lets start at the top...Elvis, frank Sinatra, pat Boone, etc etc, if you mean African American musicians were not pretentious OK, they were not like that because they could not afford being like that, do you know African American people used to ride in the back of the bus even up until the early sixties??? hate to spoil your good feelings..lets give some respect to sonny b. Williamson

  • @arzadi11 , there is nothing less pretencious than those teeth, or lack thereof... yikes

  • @DrJoha

all the teeth in the world couldn't make you blow that well.

  • @arzadi11 dude i so agree

  • @arzadi11 ... yeah but this song is about extra marital love which indeed is pretentious

  • @arzadi11 fuck yeah

  • @arzadi11 Well said

  • In 1963/63 England was invaded by the Blues. Then they took it and transformed in what we call Rock'n Roll. The rest, you Know. :-)

  • @marcelosamonte more like the late 50's and early 60's they were boiling with the blues..the result? the beatles, the rolling stones and all the rock'n roll that followed them, in the mean time here in our good old usa, african americans were being persecuted just because of the color of their skin, they were being sent to jails for less offenses than what the so called whites committed...the kkk was well and alive doing their thing..in the mean time our blues were being welcomed in other places

  • Oh Hell Ya !!!

  • This was the harp player that really got me inspired and the first blues song I ever sang and played.

  • ahhhh sonny boy i love that guy he is the greatest of the blues players!!

  • DAMN GOOOOOOD...

    Really thank's dude!

  • someone can tell what harmonica does he plays?

  • @yonatanshemesh I'm not completely sure but I think it is a Echo Vamper, a British version of the Marine Band 364.

  • this is just beautiful....wish i could have been sitting there, listening to this amazing music

  • This is one of the first Chicago blues records I heard in 1956. Check out the 1956 Checker recording - it's one of the finest Chicago blues recordings in existence. The flip side "The Key" is equally fine!

  • 11 people are dentists!

  • I am one years old. And this music is phenomenal. Sonny plays like no other...True self expression! Brilliance.

  • oeeeeehhh ilove sonny boy williams

  • @crusheroftheist The song here is in A so it must be off speed in G so it would be the key of C MB 364 definitely longer than a normal Marine band. He did use a c 364 on Bye Bye Bird

  • @slimpickinses Actually it is a key of C Echo Vamper which was the European version of the 364

  • I'm 16. Good music breaks the barrier of time.

  • @silviozaleski Eu me pergunto o mesmo. Muito bom vê brasileiro ouvindo isso, fico feliz, pois nosso cenário musical está uma porcaria e jovens alienados pelo modismo. Abraços

  • Holy Crap that was awesome !!!

  • RISPETTO THE KING OF THE ARMONICA!

  • I wished the colored people nowadays listened and played this stuff. instead of pop and rap

  • @RisinOutlaw21 you dont understand we innovate all the time white people take one thing(dat we invented) and keep doing it all the time you see our innovative nature was te reason for the birth of blues jazz rock soul funk etc we never stop

  • @RisinOutlaw21 Colored people? How old are you?

  • Check out at 3:40, wow, he does for the harmonica what Jimmi Hendrix did for the electric guitar! Very glad the camera guy was in close up for that.

  • @VJnumber1 uhh boy jimmy? alot of brothas before jimmy did dat take a look on guitar watson or earl hooker...

  • @VJnumber1 I love jimi too. But please don't compare both Sonny and Jimi as one. Sonny didn't have huge-ass amps, wah wahs, etc, to add soul to his sound. He did it all by his lonesome. Get Jimi to play acoustic instead of electric, and you'll know what i mean.

    ed

    a2ed*com

  • @a2edcom thanks for popping a pin in my balloon mister! lol. I'm referring to Hendrix playing the guitar with his teeth. I think they were HIS teeth, his REAL teeth. So, what I was thinking was, Hendrix did this in a way to suggest making love with his mouth to the guitar, and Mr. Williamson here is also "making love to the harmonica". So, i think I am making an apt comparison which does not detract from one person's amps an anothers electronically amplified acoustic.
