  • this is ibañez btb?

  • @jodetepelotudo No sir, that's a Peavey Cirrus. Looks like it could be the Tiger's Eye finish...or maybe something completely different lol!

    Great stuff doc!

  • I love the sound quality...it sounds like the pick up near to the end bass. Always good for dry funk awesomeness!

  • 140% real bass !

  • badass solo :O

  • is that a peavy?

  • which is the best record in basses?

  • How do you have the eq set on your bass?

  • I love the tone on that Cirrus! I have the exact same bass in 6 strings. It plays and sounds awesome! To me it sounds like a cross between a Ken Smith and a Roscoe.

  • so victor wooten-ey :)

  • thats rad!!!!!!!!!!

  • exotic slap tone!

  • It is a Peavey cirrus with the quilt top maple I was mistaken

  • WOW I was wrong how the hell does he get that tone from a peavey? lol. If you look him up on myspace he has videos explaining this bass and his new PRS.

  • MODULUS is the bass it's got a graphite neck and fretboard thus is how he's getting the funky ass tone. All major sounds tight when you can put it together like this. This guy also plays for Johnny Hiland who is a blind guitarist check him out on here he's freaking amazing together there the Johnny Highland band.

  • i love his slap bass

  • amazing! I - IV - V slapping to the extreme.

  • distilled and refined awesomeness manifested in musical form. Thanks for the video.

  • Peavey Cirrus?....tell me the specific model please.

  • are there any tabs for this.? would be cool to do on my college audition!

  • most sick slapping iv ever seen!!!

  • Les claypool couldn't do this Dankcharlie.

  • this guy is great, but i dont think that comment on les is warrented lol, im sure this guy and les would enjoy each others company much=)

  • the bass looks like the peavey millennium BXP 5 tiger eye just with other pickups :D

but i know it is not ;)

  • Oh my god!nice stuff man!!!

  • i am extremely impressed great beat. subsribed

  • Fantastic *clicks subscribe button*

  • it may not be fast but its really clean and I would consider this an advanced style. Not just a thumb and pop

    I like it bro!

  • not that fast, but man is that a funky beat, awesome

  • Dude...Amazing!

    I`m really impressed!

  • hey bro ur making my girlfriend get to excited. you need to calm ur crazy skills

  • @r2dxhate your girlfriend gets excited for bass players? shit i'd have her begging for me if she saw me play...

  • only one word can describe this, amazing!

  • that was pretty fuckin amazing right there....and it looked like you could be playin that in your sleep your pretty damn good at bass

  • Awesome mate!

I think your slapping is a load better than your tapping no offense

  • Great man!

  • You are a BEAST!!! 5*

  • HAHAH MikeChristie's an idiot! Go beyond your pop music before you assume what the higher level artists do.

  • awesome double thumbing man. =)

  • cheatin littole bastard u aint playin that shit man ur hand aint movin at the rite speed dumass

  • you're the shithead. dont even know skill when you see some.

he playin some awesome bass right there.

  • It's called "double thumbing" it's where the strings are hit on the way down and then on the thumbs way back up again, giving twice the speed.

  • waw, you make it look so easy... great skills!

  • BIEN

  • I am considering buying a new bass...

    I play metal

What bass do you recommend me to buy: a fender, a warwick, a music man or another one ? please tell me

By the way, you are amazing, keep playing

  • Warwick is good for metal cause it looks cool and that's the point of metal bass. But Fender makes a solid bass for half the price of a musicman and I personally like Fender's better.

  • p.s. teach me ur awesomness!

  • ur fucking awesome

  • You look so bored.

  • you're kinda pro aint you

  • your great... love the amp (got the same one) probally the best out there what kind of bass do you use. and how did you get so good at dubble slapping?

  • what amp do you speak of?

  • If you watch his other videos he's using an Ampeg svt 4-pro head and Ampeg svt-hlf 4x10 or 6x10 cab

  • what bass is it?

  • Hey bro! if you don't mind me asking... what kind of strings are you using? THANKS

  • yeah whatg strings are they? my ones are really stiff and its a bitch to hold a chord.

  • can i just say your amazin the only other person iv heard doin the thumb up down technique was victor wooten and he didnt do it as good as that

  • yeah but wooten invented that technique though :)

  • Actually, it came from an adaptation of Larry Grahams techneque so technically, it didn't come from Wooten and he would tell you this.

Either way, whoever was the first bassist in the workld invented fingerstyle...get my point?

Playing music is just that, just cause someone else "Invented" the techneque doesn't mean folks can't use it.

    enjoy people.

  • very very very fluid

  • +Great job man, nice sound, timing and technique. 10!

  • how the hell do you slap bass

  • how don't you lsap bass...

  • you look like a thinner Ethan Suplee

  • Yea I meant what brand of strings

  • From one Mike Hill to another!!! bad ass bro

  • Great, dude. I find it particulary hard to slap on a 5 string bass, because my hands are kind of big, but that was amazing.

  • Nice sound!!

  • great!!

  • Hey Mike you and the Zach Kim kid should team up and do a duo that would be totally kick ass cause he does that dual guitar thing and you are amazing at Bass guitar yall would do great

  • you're probably one of the best bassists of our time.. great job..

  • i long for the day when i can look bored playing somethin that damn funky, great job man, does the fluidity of your slapping just come with practice because i can double thump pretty well but that was so smooth

  • Nice groove man.

  • that ws fuckin illlll man

  • different, sounds kinda like alain caron when he slaps (kind of a contradiction really) in short, cool

  • i know your good! but the thing is! i think you know it to man!

  • 5* you F'in rock

  • The first half was really chill! It's hard to find slap that's laid back! Good Job!

  • Cool. Very musical, not just some show of speed, chops or straight technique. Nice making all those hammer-ons and pull-offs flow together so smoothly. Thanks.

  • hey..... whats the brand of that bass. cool sound dude...

  • peavey cirrus.. idk if cirrus is correct spelling its deffently peavey and its cirrus or summin like that

  • Wooten Thief - And it's ALL GOOD - down thump - up two fings!!!

  • good job!!!

    perfect slaps...

  • probably a modulus quantum 5

  • wow do u give lessons, lol im kinda struggeling with slap nd pop, i can play it but it doesn't sound so smooth, awesome skill man :)

  • Great sound, and nice natural relaxed style. If I tried this I would probably be slavering in the attempt.

  • That makes me want to pick up the bass again. That was amazing!

  • u are my new bass idol :O

  • ditto

  • You good a nice technique there. Nice mixture, which i like to see.

  • Agreed.

  • Phwoar, lovin that slap styllleee

  • Yes people it's a peavey cirrus what i love about these basses is sound like a combination of a Ken smith or fodera ether way you eq you get such an amazing sound depending on what rig you hook it up and of course the sustain on that bass is one of the best.. nice solo

  • Sweet! Sweet Tone! Sweet Playing!

  • You have the most amazing tone/sound i've ever heard.

  • That was all very good, and you're a skilled musician - but to be honest that isn't funky enough to bother using slap bass, you might as well play it normally. And I'm not complaining, just making an observation. Slap has to be funky - muted slings and octaves stuff, I'm sure you know what I mean. I hope to see more slap bass in a funkier style.

  • Amazingly fluent and smooth playing, what kind of bass is that?

  • awesome! how did you do that?!
