  • 2:37 who is that guy in the background? :DDD

  • hey!!!!! bro..... i am a rapper and i want to record my vocals at home...i have unidirectional dynamic mic.........my question is that when i use to record my vocal in adobe audition ...there is some delay in recording...... iam using convertor monsteristudio cables but still not getting the voice i neeed could u help me out?????

PEACE out........*i donot use any professional amps.....and my budget is ultra low ...????

  • @rbtdesirapper Your audio card sound like its not performing fast enough to record in realtime. Let me suggest a usb interface. look up the Alesis io2

  • What was the name of the band??

  • yo call it the apple store, if you call it the mac store than people will think your talking about the make up store xD

  • l;kf

  • Thanks this is very helpfull!

  • No wonder all the stuff that comes out these days sounds like such crap. It's because of putzes like this guy telling people how to record it. Pathetic.

  • 20$ for a 1/4 to 1/8 converter? *facepalm*

    3.50 @ guitar center

  • What I do, Is just use my mixer, then run it from the R.C.A to my mic input. Works nice.

  • Thanks for the video. Need help. Neither mike nor guitar work for me when plugged into my laptop (w/Vista).

    Bought the following:

    - HXFM-FP Impedence Matching Transformer

    - Monster AI STUDIOLINK iStudioLink 1/4-Inch Mono Female to 1/8-Inch Stereo Male Instrument Interconnect Cable

    - Shure SM58 mike

My guitar's a standard Squire Strat.

The mike works fine w/my amp.

  • Get a Job you BUM!!!!

  • Hey, thanks for saving me some money. The setup is just what i needed but i ran into a problem using music maker. I can easily create the drum track and record my guitar track over it while plugged into my laptop but i can't hear my guitar playing back while i'm recording. Is that just the way it is or am i skipping a step? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

  • great vid dude thanx alot

  • ...i want to record my raps and shit, what should i get i got pc, got beats + raps, and thats that so far ;D hit me back , thanx...

  • first learn what the cables asre called

    XLR

    TRS Balance and Unbalance

  • didn't know that thank you.

  • don't be an asshole he is trying to help

  • ur an asshole

  • the guy walking in at 2:38 is probly like, who the hells he talkin to..... lol

  • damn thanks

  • do the istudiolink cables make it sound better than if you record directly through the mic (i mean the guitar).

  • It's not a compliment to the recording quality to use many adapters. Audio Interface with an XLR-input would be great.

  • Dude. Buy a Rock Band Microphone, and download Audacity and the free version of Drumsite.

  • audacity is amazing.

  • Rockband mic = crappy quality.

    Audacity = crappy encoding/quality.

So you will just get a bad sound.

  • Whats better then Audacity?

  • a program name reaper, you can download it for free, you wont be sorry.

  • @jimrox9000 umm fruityloop duh/.

  • i hope its that easy

  • thanx man. good help aye

  • You can also just buy a short cable for the mic with jackplug in the other end.. Its easyer, and I dont think they are very expencive.. Those Ive got came with the mics I bought.

Go to Zanzibar! There you can get a Shure SM58 for 10$!!

But yeh, nice video. This works fine for recording demoes.

  • what stereo miniplug???

    i need that too..

i dont know where to get that??

    in computer shops??

    or where??

    i need it..

    please help me??

  • nice vid!

  • a foo where can i buy the adapter for the microfone and the magix studio is a trial how do i get the full version reply back thankz

  • hey yo people this is ya boy james i'm looking for someone so we can work together i do rnb hiphop let me know,

  • ur hella smart

  • to nonsontatoio it does contain some impendence adapter, cause i tried it with yust a regular connector and it did not work

  • Holy jizz dude, this helped me out alot, thanks, if you ever need someone to help record or do a part of music let me know

  • This timing issue has me ticked. i didnt have the problem on my old laptop running Xp but since I upgraded to a new laptop and Magix 11 now have the latency issue non stop for the past 2 years. It's gotten to the point im not using it anymore and saving up for pro tools, it really killed my focus.

  • Hi man! Good one! I was thinking to buy the iStudioLink, but do you know if it is only a hardware adaptor, or it contains some kind of impedance adaptor? I'm pretty good with weldings and if it's only a cable I can build my own.

    Thank you!

  • I can show these guys a few things. Zzzzzzz

  • i wish they made videos helping other audio engineers with low budget problems... cuz these guys are so slow its for people who don't know anything about the process

  • Magix music isn't free

  • it's not

It was just like a thrity day demo.

I jsut bought my self a line six UX1 it came with riffworks and alberton lite and pod farm

I am prety happy with it for the price

  • alright perfect thanks for the help guys

  • great vid man, um i have a tube amp. To get he very purest sound possible frm my amp in my recording would i mic it? or can i hook it up through a output and put through to my computer?? is that possible? or do i jstu ahve to mic my cab and send it to my mixer or interface? aand what is best for recording? a mixer or a interface? quality convience wise?

  • mic the amp if you have a good mic, i recomend a mixer with an interface. behringer makes a cheap usb interface that will record at a higher quality, the mic inputs on computers are noisy and suck.

  • woodnt the mixer make noise it self and how impotant are cordss?? for electric noise?, an whats diff be tween pahntom power mixer and non phantom?? would one that doesnt use phantom make les noie

  • the mixer wont make much noise unless you a really bad one. Get good cables, crapy cables make more noise, my buddy bought a $300 pedal board and hooked it up with cheap cables and it was horrible, upgraded to livewire cables and bam! no noise. Phantom power is for use with condenser microphones. it wont make any more or less noise. If you're just recording the guitar you dont need a mixer you can eq it on your computer after recording anyways. It all depends on what all you want to do.

  • THANK U VERY MUCH it rlly helped

  • Doesn't know what he's talking about

  • may not work for you dude, but thousands of people are using this setup and enjoy it. so maybe you should shut the fuck up and know your place.

  • hey man that did at least gave me an idea of what i need. now here's what i was wondering. since i have an acoustic guitar and it does not have a plug in option, so is there any cheap specific mic to record my acoustic guitar sound? or what would you suggest how should i record my acoustic guitar play? thanks man.

  • if you like the acoustic sound and can part with it your going to need to get a condenser mic. you get what you pay for ,not only will you have to pay for the mic but chances are if it a really high quality mic your going to need to buy phantom power. good+ aren't like regular mic that work of low voltage like the one in a karaoke machine lol its needs more juice so there where you need the phantom power

  • they make usb condenser mics, im not sure how well they work with guitar but it would be cheaper than buying a phantom power setup.

  • ive used 2 made my samson and i hated them they didn't sound any better then performance mic, i returned them and i got a phantom setup and i really like the quality, its not a 100% professional but it gets the job done really well i paid 180 for my condenser mic and 20 bucks for the phantom power supply which was used and works fine.

  • Hey ! Thanks alot , But i have 2 questions : can you use a USB microphone to record with? and do you record one instrument at a time ? Thanks , please get bak 2 me on them

  • it is possible to record with a usb mic but the quality isnt as great as you would want for a demo to sound, but it does give you the space to record 2 instruments at a time. personally i record one instrument at a time and it is possible to upgrade your audio so you can record multiple instruments at the same time.

  • when you plug your guitar into the istudiolink cable, do you plug your guitar into your amp and then your speaker cable into the istudiolink cable then into the computer?

  • the istudio link cable is directly inserted into the computer and you directly connect your guitar to the istudio link cable by way of instrument cable. you will have to use cabs and filters that the software whether it be magix or another one, offers you to use for your guitar.

  • thank u very much dude, helped very much

  • thanks bro

  • i fell asleep...

  • how come all these other videos mention audio interface but you make it seem like its not nescesary lol, please explain?

  • dude i still cannot find the free program just a trial?

  • Will it sound like real studio work or just good Crisp beginner stuff.

LIKE is it Hard to notice its not in a studio

  • it depends on your mic definitely! and it depends on your audio card. if your clever with your dollar you can really get a professional sound

  • Oh cool! Thanks a lot!

Im actually about to download a program called

Pro tools for recording i hope its good

  • protools is awesome

  • dont you need like software?? would it give my computer a virus or make it run slower i have a dell

  • Your problem with the track being off the beat a little is called latency. You usually get it on firewire or analog recording systems.

  • is it good for doin just doin straight traks or only demo

  • So wut is the name of that plugey computer you hook it up to a guitar and stuff thing??

  • monster istudio link cable

  • Thank you

  • Do you think downloading that software will give my mac a virus?

  • it won't

  • so can i burn the stuff i record on to a cd?

  • yup

  • so this program is only for mac?

  • okay, sounds great. but is there any way to record multiple tracks at once? such as guitar, mic, keyboard, etc... i can only plug one in at a time as is...

  • for that i would def. recommend you getting a usb interface such as Line6 Toneport that will let you record multiple tracks at once. they vary between the number of inputs to effects to tones, so do some research on it. cheapest one i found would only let you record vocals and a guitar track simlitanoueiy( 2 input jacks) that ran me about $35.

  • okay, thanks. i have been doing much research, and some sites say its impossible, some say i need to spend 200$ on a desk mixer which i would plug into line-in port and some say to just plug in all the devices through usb its pretty disputed in the forums... anyways... i was just wondering what you though would work. and thanks very much!

  • Can u leave a video on the basics of magix...

    Wat versoin u useing?

  • ill be sure to make it that my next priority! but i am working on part two so i guess ill upload them at the same time.

  • can u rap with that software

  • yes

  • Yo Yo... I have magix... I love it... it does everthing. accept from compressoin??? Do you know how too compress on magix? Thnx... Hit me back

  • it should be on the track tool bar

  • hey how do u mix your voice?

  • there is a mixer on there

  • on the description? if its on there i dont c it

  • no the software has a mixer

  • oh ok

  • Ey Bro Im Back. Well.. Magix worked great until it expired -You said to download the UK verison. WHERE the heck is that? Please assist! I really like to software and would like to DOWNLOAD again if I could.

  • JUST USE LOGIC!!!!!!

  • fine then, can you loan me 500???

  • Ever tried a Shure mic?

  • how to download basic it dont let you

  • try the uk version

  • Good job, man!

  • ok but i kant find it can u put up the exact link 4 basic????

  • the samson q7 mic is crap...if you want to get a proffessional microphone you have to spend about $150...and if you are going to do that go with the ev blue cardinal...you can find one online for about that price...or you can get the ev blue raven if you don't have a phantom power box...and for the price of the q7, you can get a decent usb or firewire interface so you don't need to use magix...cause that program really sucks...

  • your opinion bro, a lot of people are using it and telling me its great so idk what else to tell you.

  • thanks man.

  • peace Jonaldinho... nice name.. related to Ronaldinho..? lol.

Hey bruv what's a good mic for vocals recording?

  • thats my real name dude.lol, well a goos recording mic would be any condenser mic, try sticking to usb interfaces. there are relatively inexpensive models out there so its all about the hunt of finding the right one.

  • do i type in anything special 4 the software???cuz i dnt want the trial version

  • download the basic addition, then you should be fine

  • HAHAH...Gee Thanks DIck! Thats not what I meant. HAH But good one. I tried recording last night and Im not sure If I did something wrong..But..It was only recording for about 20 sec and then it looped itself. ..Ya know what, I'll play with it a little bit more.

  • o top of the rack there is a bar which pale white with the purple corners that is the loop bar, and that probably the matter

  • Thanks Bro! I'll give it a shot. Appreciate it... But your still a Dick. Jk.hahh

  • haha w.e helps!

  • Okay Ive downloaded that the software, how do make the recording longer? Atleast 3 minutes. I need some help now. PLEASE !

  • well, thats pretty easy you record longer than three minutes

  • So whats crackin? Can we hear any of your samples? Sounds interesting, I ....or should I say WE would all like to hear what your quality sounds like. ... Just a lil sample....

  • and were the fcckkk do i get that????help me i was in the middle of my song that i made

  • download d o t com

  • a the music maker is a 14 day trial dude

  • i failed to mention to get the uk version, if that doesn't work, make sure you downloaded the basic version

  • i tried but all this crap came up for roxio creator so if anybody wants to know don't use it!

  • the software isnt the main focus its just what i was using at the time. its the equipment im using , thats the focus of the video.

  • yo dude whatz the diffrance between dynamic and cheap microphonez ? cuz i cant get myhead around it - is the dynamic microphone better - like being withouht that weird ''shhhh'' nosie - im really confused - if u got a msn pllz message me i really need help -

    thankz alot bro

  • i don't have a msn but what i can tell you when it comes to mics you get what you pay for, regular mics range from horrible(karaoke mics) to okay (high school auditorium mics), then the dynamic mics which have less feedback or "shhh" which range from Good (concert mics) to Better(affordable recording mics but lesser quality), then Condenser mics depends what you pay best (professional recording mics no "shhh" or feedback)

i hope that answer your Question!

  • If i got a good recording software does all that you just said.. (Plugging the guitar in the computer and the mic) still work with recording???

  • yes it does.

  • can you do it on a dell with vista, mine has the roxio creator and you can do recordings on that, would that work?

  • yes you can

  • Cant you just use a Guitar Cable to PC/Mac 6.3mm - 3.5mm adaptor instedad of the monster istudiolink cable? its like 1/20 of the price

  • w.e works for you man. i trust mac and their products when it comes to recording equipment, but if your partial to that cable it should work.

  • thanks man

  • hey how do u cut the voice out of a song....i want to use my voice instead of the artist???get at me asap

  • you can't, your best bet is to get just the instrumental of the song.

  • eh yeh ya can..you have to get a software for editing music...remove the vocals and put urs in

  • thats right my bad, but ive tried it it just muffles it out , you can still kind a hear the vocals, its better to find the instrumental though

  • hey do u know how to cut out the vocals on a track??? get back at me please

  • if its your own original track than you can delete the track or mute it.

  • there is a funktion in MAGIX Music Maker, but it doesn´t work really well...

  • ok thanks

  • unbelievably helpfull dude!!

  • o is it in walmart??

  • on the website i believe , at the store i don't think it is.

  • hey i kant find that monster link cable

  • you can find it at your local apple store and at walmart(dot)com

  • google search magix basic

  • u have to get the basic verson

  • wht i have real time recording and the time is never off i use adobe audition 1.5 a boot leg program works good lol and then you got one out there call.d cool edit the both are just the same thang. lol kiding good vidio

  • Hello broo,, i play some kind of Heavy music,, so now i want to make own home studio,, so i baught the cheap creative sound card, now, i can records my Riff,, but can you suggest me any mixing software that can make my sound go Heavy and soolid?

  • can u use the monsteristudiolingk cable with a PC not a mac ? :\

  • you can use it for both machines.

  • You don't have to move the tracks if you have ASIO.

  • ive had tons of trouble getting my computer to get the right drivers to work, i went out and got a similar product to the istudiolink cable, now i can record everything with a line out instead of a usb out cable

    thanks for the inspiration

  • Mixcraft is really great. I use it for all my recording. Mixcraft 4 has midi capabilities aswell which is really nice. On amazon it's only 45 dollars. Best product for the price.

  • hey bro i play very heavy music and my band wants to get a few tracks up before real recording but wont be til later we try to record the guitars are decent but the drums just block out everything ino moving away will make it clear but do you think if i get that Monster iStudioLink Cable and use a decent 30$ mic drums will be ok?? thanks so much man

  • when you buy mics, you get what you pay for. The monster istudio link cable whill just make it easier to record to the comp and it really won't change the quality much but it will change. your best bet is to buy a decent drum pad that sound reality real so then you can use your drummer for live performances, or you can get electric drums so you can record and your drummer can show his real skillz.

  • magix won't let me save my songs =/

did i download the wrong thing or what?

luckily i just found this out with a 30 second test track, but still. =/

  • ive been getting that alot. next bets thing to use is mixcraft acoustica great software! i think when i downloaded magix , at the time saving was enabled i guess you got the newer or atleast updated trial version. since i downloaded i havent updated the software which enabled me to continue to save my projects and songs

  • alright, cool.

i got mixcraft, it's a little easier than magix and takes care of my basic needs. thanks man.

  • noo problem home slice

  • thank soo much

  • so wait are you saying record with the sound recorder on the cpu or with the magix music maker

  • record using the magix music maker

  • i couldnt even download the music maker my cpu said something was wrong with it..do u kno of any others

  • another really great one mixcraft acoustica and its actually easier to use. good luck

  • thanx

  • I bought a behringer 802 mixer for about $60

behringer u-control usb interface about $30

I already had to RCA cables

I use acid music studio 7.0 but you can use audacity too.

  • You should get sm57's. Their beastly.

  • That all sound like it cost alot

  • well if your a musician some of the stuff i mentioned are stuff you should already have . for example a mic, cables etc.

  • i just have a sound mixer plug all my componens in mic/gutar/kebord and so on and the have a phono to a stereo miniplug cable

and plug the phono into the out of the mixer and mini plug in the laptop/pc/mac.
