Zero is the original Zero revived but with amnesia (memory loss). He doesnt remember X or the battles they fought together. I am happy x6 came out because the original x was going to be the main villain and as much as I like zero that would have made me hate the mega man series. X has limitless protanshol and has beaten zero before. He has beaten Sigma and save humans and reploids. For x to become evil would have made alot of mega man and mega man x fans hate the zero games. X is more powerful then zero.
Is there any relation between the branches(MM, MMX, MML, MMBN,ect...) or are they all separate stories? I've been to poor to enjoy them all and find out for myself.
MM (20XX)--> MMX (21XX-22XX)--> MMZ (23XX)--> MMZX (If I'm not mistaken, 25XX or 26XX)--> MML (5XXX or 9XXX) Battle Network and Star Force have their own separate timeline. Hope that helps.

Am I the only one who noticed the error in Copy X's mugshot? He has the wrong helmet! You can see on Copy X's in-game sprite that his helmet has a different design, but his mugshot has the helmet of X-series X. This difference is made blatantly obvious in Mega Man Zero 3, where there is a close-up of Copy X in one of the cutscenes. Apparently even the people at the knowledge base didn't even notice Capcom's goof-up.
@rundas37 I disagree, it would have been X vs 0 as it was intended to be (tic-tac-toe mentality) Lights creation vs Wily`s, both fighting for two goods or the lesser of two evils if you like, no heroes, no villains, just warriors fighting for what they believe in.

It is supposed to state: Even if they can at any time potentially go maverick, costing the life of hundreds, of the last remaining humans.
X and 0 Tic-Tac-Toe first X at the middle then the 0, exactly how it was meant to be, a pity it never was implemented, it cost the life of the X and Zero games and is the reason the series and its storyline seems to have been stuck in limbo forever.

After struggling with the game I got to this clown and put him and his second form down on my first try.
@BushidoMH I don't think so,the design of the "armor" is flawed.Yeah sure it has got a different Buster,a different helmet(which seems to not have any function at all,but I like to think it stores the elements' chips and the regeneration function)and a different feet,but the chest part or body part is the same as the normal form,which means no resistance boost and explains why he takes so much damage with only a combo.
Flawless Victory. I've never beaten him this way before. Then again, when I played Zero 1, I was a rookie. I can't wait to fight him again in the Zero Collcetion... if my L button can hold up that is.
I kinda wish that Original X was the enemy though, as originally intended. It would have been interesting.

That's his EX Skill. If, while on normal difficulty, you fight bosses while you have an A or S rank, they'll have an extra attack, their "EX Skill". Copy X's EX is a Sub-Tank. However if you're on hard mode, the bosses will use their EX Skill regardless of rank.
Ahhhhh, stop hating! Yes, he's kinda evil and dirties X's name as lovable, slightly naive X(I have no reason to speak about that due to hypocrisy and getting tricked into giving my bike away like candy). BUT STILL!! In my opinion, there was way too much expected out of him. They expected him to be X, which he isn't, which is why this (video game) happened. I say we blame Ciel instead for not doing the reasonable thing and getting an actual politician to take over X's position instead.

Not really. Copy X was the way he was because he had none of X's memories or experience. He was a naive child, who literally had the weight of the world on his shoulders bcause people expected him to BE the perfect copy of X down to the letter. His Idea of Solving the energy crisis was destroying reploids to keep the humans happy.
The only influence Weil had on him, was in Z3, reviving him, and playing him like a fool, manipulating him into fighting Zero so he would lose.
It's a copy. He is even referred to as Copy-X in Z3.
plus, thats not true. Reploids are not copies of X. in the beginning, the schematics for the internal reploid structure and mechanics and workings were derived from X, but they are still vastly different. and since then, have continued to change to the point where I doubt that they can really be based off of his original insides anymore. You tell me, how is a whale a modified copy of X?
They are called reploids mainly because they have the same emotional and personality capacity as X not just the structure. Also REPloid would probably hint that they got made from something else.
in the japanese actually, Light even refers to X as a "Repliroid" (In the Japanese versin, its Repliroid, instead of Reploid. and it never meant replicate... it was jus a term used to refer to a robot with capabilities like a human. (such as X.)
Not necessarily. It most likely references that they are based off of Humans. Since the term is used to descibe any robot with human like capabilities. But then again, the US term of Reploid doesnt make anyh more sense, since reploids are not replicates. much less of X. the only thing reploids have that is based on X, is their minds, and some of their internals, such as power generators. The only reploid who is directly based off of X, is Sigma, the first Reploid, made by Cain himself.

in the official story: Master X, or "Copy X" was originally created by Ciel to replace the real X who died to use his body to seal the Dark Elf. Copy X turned into an iron-fisted and cold ruler over the once peaceful empire called Neo Arcadia whom the real X once ruled over to protect Humans/Reploids.

Interestingly In the original concept for Mega Man Zero, the main villain was originally going to be the real X instead of Copy X, but due to the unauthorized release of Mega Man X6, this idea was omitted in the list of original concepts meant to connect X5 with the first Zero game.
Zero was originally created by Keiji Inafune to be Mega Man X himself, but since Capcom felt it didn't look enough like the original Mega Man for it to be passable, he created a blue android and called him "X" and gave the red android a new back-story as "Zero."
you need to read the story lines, so you have all the facts straight, because X didn't take the role of the badguy, this is a completely new character.

the change from Original X to copy X was actually made very late in production, a month or so before release. They figured it would be crushing to have kids have to kill their childhood hero. it would be too cruel for kids, so they made the copy.
Not really. it takes place 100 years after the X series, so X6 sholdnt have much impact on it. its true that Inafune had to "rework" some things, but that was only in regards to Zero, sin ce he was revived in X6, when his intention was to have him revived from is death in X5, in Z1. the change to copy X was merely made because it wold be terrible for kids to have to kill their hero. Whereas if its a copy, its fair game.
Also, zero seems quite stronger now, every since hes been revived. Its been 100 years since he passed.

Flawless Victory. I've never beaten him this way before. Then again, when I played Zero 1, I was a rookie. I can't wait to fight him again in the Zero Collcetion... if my L button can hold up that is.
I kinda wish that Original X was the enemy though, as originally intended. It would have been interesting.

That's his EX Skill. If, while on normal difficulty, you fight bosses while you have an A or S rank, they'll have an extra attack, their "EX Skill". Copy X's EX is a Sub-Tank. However if you're on hard mode, the bosses will use their EX Skill regardless of rank.

Ahhhhh, stop hating! Yes, he's kinda evil and dirties X's name as lovable, slightly naive X(I have no reason to speak about that due to hypocrisy and getting tricked into giving my bike away like candy). BUT STILL!! In my opinion, there was way too much expected out of him. They expected him to be X, which he isn't, which is why this (video game) happened. I say we blame Ciel instead for not doing the reasonable thing and getting an actual politician to take over X's position instead.

Not really. Copy X was the way he was because he had none of X's memories or experience. He was a naive child, who literally had the weight of the world on his shoulders bcause people expected him to BE the perfect copy of X down to the letter. His Idea of Solving the energy crisis was destroying reploids to keep the humans happy.
The only influence Weil had on him, was in Z3, reviving him, and playing him like a fool, manipulating him into fighting Zero so he would lose.

It's a copy. He is even referred to as Copy-X in Z3.
plus, thats not true. Reploids are not copies of X. in the beginning, the schematics for the internal reploid structure and mechanics and workings were derived from X, but they are still vastly different. and since then, have continued to change to the point where I doubt that they can really be based off of his original insides anymore. You tell me, how is a whale a modified copy of X?

They are called reploids mainly because they have the same emotional and personality capacity as X not just the structure. Also REPloid would probably hint that they got made from something else.

in the japanese actually, Light even refers to X as a "Repliroid" (In the Japanese versin, its Repliroid, instead of Reploid. and it never meant replicate... it was jus a term used to refer to a robot with capabilities like a human. (such as X.)

Not necessarily. It most likely references that they are based off of Humans. Since the term is used to descibe any robot with human like capabilities. But then again, the US term of Reploid doesnt make anyh more sense, since reploids are not replicates. much less of X. the only thing reploids have that is based on X, is their minds, and some of their internals, such as power generators. The only reploid who is directly based off of X, is Sigma, the first Reploid, made by Cain himself.

in the official story: Master X, or "Copy X" was originally created by Ciel to replace the real X who died to use his body to seal the Dark Elf. Copy X turned into an iron-fisted and cold ruler over the once peaceful empire called Neo Arcadia whom the real X once ruled over to protect Humans/Reploids.

The Zero series was good I don't know why they stopped at 4 they could have stopped at a 5 atleast I mean X looked for Zero's parts in X3 why doesn't Zero return the favor*few days later*Zero fights a fake X another copy then X comes in and finishes the battle and the 2 fight weil tis a fake weil then move on to 4 which is now 5 in my mind in the story kept going

Interestingly In the original concept for Mega Man Zero, the main villain was originally going to be the real X instead of Copy X, but due to the unauthorized release of Mega Man X6, this idea was omitted in the list of original concepts meant to connect X5 with the first Zero game.

You might of misinterpreted my post as stating original-X is the actual foe in the official games, no lol, sorry for any confusions i might of made. I was talking about Capcom and Inafune's past original (concepts) for the Zero series story that almost made official but canceled after X6. Since I'm into making games I tend to have fun studying not just story lines of games but the background dynamics and changes in teams/company choices before official releases, etc.

I like how the MMX and Zero series isn't so black and white, lets say X6 wasn't made and the original X became the main foe, I can see that happening. I even recall an interview with Inafune talking about the morel of the X series is "nothing is absolute."

I'm not sure how to answer your question, I can assume since the release of the official story and other series, that's what "canon," so that makes that info like past concept art in meaning over all.

the change from Original X to copy X was actually made very late in production, a month or so before release. They figured it would be crushing to have kids have to kill their childhood hero. it would be too cruel for kids, so they made the copy.

Not really. it takes place 100 years after the X series, so X6 sholdnt have much impact on it. its true that Inafune had to "rework" some things, but that was only in regards to Zero, sin ce he was revived in X6, when his intention was to have him revived from is death in X5, in Z1. the change to copy X was merely made because it wold be terrible for kids to have to kill their hero. Whereas if its a copy, its fair game.
