  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • One of my favourite songs too..!

  • Joy Division's my most favorite band ever, but these guys just might dethrone them....

  • @Popdivision You might like my channel, then. You'll find some of the best of both tucked away in faves and/or playlist - indeed, I just dragged this song from early in my prolific favourites for another airing; it is quite possibly the most 'mature' stuff they made - may I also commend the first Bad Seeds album, From Her To Eternity, to you...☺t

  • @locomotifx I looked at your channel and saw New Order (major thumbs up), but I'm a little overwhelmed by the huge amount of material by Nick Cave, so thank you for making my searches a lot more easy and convenient!

  • This is probably the coolest song ever.. And it has my name in it! :)

I'm fairly new to these guys and they're really growing on me! Thank you for uploading this <3

  • @rozedarque The person who turned me on to them so many years ago said, "They grow on you.... like mold." She was right. They sound better than ever.

  • @Shali2707 That is so cool:) Thee best description I've ever heard! They really do don't they? :D

  • in terms of melody they are wank/. YSF

  • Beautiful final cut from the band. It did hurt then. It hurts now.

  • R.I.P. Rowland .....badest news end of the year :(

  • no, come on!! why do i have to read this here and now, when just wanted to be happy to have found some BP on youtube?? what bad news!

    bye rowland, R.I.P.

  • Nice song.

  • R.I.P Rowland.

  • this is immaculate 1983 goth-rock from when that music was still pretty cool

  • @wrs6565 It's so much more than Goth, They too hated that term.

  • What can you tell me about this photo? Where/who is it from?

Oh and, thanks for uploading the song. The Birthday Party has been my favorite band since forever and a day.

  • I found the photo at some random website showing abandoned places. This is an abandoned cinema in the middle of a forest in Russie, I think...

  • Surprise Surprise! A little known band from Greece was doing exactly what the Birthday Party were doing at the same time. Unfortunately I no longer see the friend who gave me a copy of the tape. And I lost the only copy I had.

    Yellow Yell- Hello Hell.

  • Yell-o-Yell is the name of the band !

There were some pretty good bands here in greece in the 80's

  • Best Aussie muso. Full stop...

  • Especially like this track by The Birthday Party! so much like a story in my mind's eye as are most of Nick Cave's songs!

  • Always my favorite BD Party song.

  • Your baby will never cry again...

  • wish it was me

who hade have the chance to hear them

  • thanks for putting this song on reminds me of when i saw em back in 81

  • Wow, you're so lucky.....

  • @wiseblood90 me too, they blew bauhaus off stage at the lyceum :-) awesome band

  • This is beautiful...

I glad I got to hear it.

  • Amazing song!

Thank you for putting on YouTube - I was looking for excactly this one!

And I agree - very sexy song! But quite twisted, really!

  • Wow, so glad to hear that people actually thanking me for putting good stuff on YouTube.

    This was exactly my purpose!

  • Dude.. My sister if using my profile.. haha

She also have a taste for the "artistic" music..

  • Wait wait..."artistic" music??

Kinda got me confused with this adjective.

Which kind of music is not artistic, and why did you meant by saying this on BP? I'm surprised.

  • Oh, well if you feel upset by what I said let me explain. All music is an artwork yes yes.

But some of it is more "difficult" to understand yes? Some of it you have to hear several times to "understand"

So, if I played this music to a random person, I don't think they would like it immidiatly. Maybe after a few spins they would get drawn into it.

  • Oh, yeah, I totally agree with about this.

  • Oh yeah...about my fave of Birthday Party.

Heard it the first time in 1989 when I was 15 and it deeply impressed me...the atmosphere it creates....love it, till this day.

  • Oh great!

I think this song is somewhat sexy, but hey, it's only my opinion and personal feeling~

  • musica con le palle. che gruppo!

  • If you can translate, please, although I think you loved it ^^

  • I love The Birthday Party and old Nick Cave albums, before he lost his head up his own arse. Honestly, I can't stand to watch him anymore.

  • Really? Well, I think the moustache doues not suite him. I didn't heard his current music, but I heard that it's not that good then it was before.

  • I'm way past the age when *this* band or *that* band is the BEST and those suck etc. But, TBP truly holds a special place in the list of bands that have had an impact on me. Beautiful stuff. Wish I had seen them live back in the day.

  • Wow, I'm glad to hear that. They are one of my favorite bands as well, and Nick Cave in general is a great musician.

  • And BTW, great picture in the video :)

  • Really? Glad you like it, I think it fits the song in some ways...

  • It does. Kind of haunting image. Is it somewhere in the Web or is it yours? Have an URL by any chance?

  • No, it's from the web...

I beg your pardon, but what is an URL [did you meant this really long adress of...a pic?]

  • Exactly. The web address of the picture, if you still remember where you got it. If you don't, that's OK, cause when I feel like it I can come here to take a look at it :) (And hear a good tune on the side.)
