7/7. My primary concern is transitioning from my day job to a life coach and what kind of financial risk that will bring to my wife and I. Where can I get certified? What is a fair price to charge at the outset of this career. Have your prices changed as you've grown as a which has in turn enabled you to add more value?
Good afternoon David & thanks for sharing this info. I got 7 ot of 7. I would like to know how to go about finding my own mentor/coach so that I can be challenged to improve as a coach. I 've never had the priveledge of being guided/mentored/coached/couseled etc because I don't quite know how to initiate the process of finding someone I can pair up with and learn from, even if it's just to ask a question every once in a blue moon or get some constructive criticism. Thank you.
I got 6 out of 7 =) #6 did not apply because I do not have a job with assisting people anymore but I did for 2 years within customer serivce in *drum roll* Issue resolution! My question is: how do you get people to take yuou seriously as a coach once you place a proper/official title to it?
I've been an "undercover Life Coach" for years. Last september I officially started my practice. Helping to change peoples lives everyday.....what a great profession!!!
I got 7 out of 7. Hmmmm, does that say something? I've been practicing "outside the system" for my entire adult life. (I'm 60) Does one need formal education and/or certification?
I got a 5/7 for the quiz on if I'm secretly coaching, but not getting paid for it.
My number one question about coaching is "What is the best way to select a coaching niche if I don't have a whole lot of experience in any particular field?"
Loved the vid David. I want to clear something up, I'm a little skeptical that a score of 4/7 (I got 5 :D) would mean that anyone could become a coach. The questions seemed general to me as well, sort of like those 'cold reading' tricks lol although I trust that your intentions are good. I just don't think that I could be responsible for helping someone make a very big call about their life. What if it turned out that people knew more than me about how to help themselves?
I got 6 out 7!! Now that I know I've been an undercover coach, do I need certification to 'practice'?
Thanks for a great video!! I WILL SURELY GET ME BUSINESS CARDS - I'd thought of the idea before, but wasn't sure! Thanks for re-creating my confidence!!
7 out of 7..I am already an employment counselor and facilitate empowerment workshops but have not done one to one "coaching" for pay yet...outside of my day job...if you get customers online...what is the best payment method? Thanks!!
I have 7 out of 7 ,had cards made .I talk to everyone and have put a life coaching web site together.I could use some advise on what to do next ,I am not sure what to do to get started .....I am grateful for any advice.
@josephpatrow Usually if you don't have any income coming in - I'll suggest getting some kind of part time job so you can have some financial foundation. 2) As for a client not going well, try a different tactic or they may not be ready for coaching right now.
@afiqhassan Right not at least in the US, certification isn't a requirement. When you are just getting started, charge what people will pay you. Evenually you can make $350-$2000 a month per client.
@aquamom48 Yes, you definitely want to be working on yourself and your own situation. A good coach is always growing themselves. But, you don't have to be perfect to coach. What has your life experience taught you that you can teach others?
I scored 6 out of 7 - I am a life coach / spiritual coach and guess which question I had do answer in the negative: no 3 - at least nor in my professional capacity. I live in the southwest of Ireland and the recession has hit hard... I know very few people who even surf the net...Q: Any advice
@DRISHANA1 You might have to give out there in your local area, speaking at local groups. But, you can coach globally, people don't have to be from your country.
While i would LOVE to carry around business cards, you don't normally see 17 year olds trying to sell themselves. The people i coach regularly are my close friends, and i've even met and made quite a few new friends this way, as i've made an impact people within minutes of talking to them, and they become my new friends. I get pleasure from doing this, and until a few hours ago i didn't even know a life coach existed, and your video confirmed that this is what i would love to do. Thankyou!
and as for the second question, How can i apply the skills of life coaching to a career in media, writing, or entertainment? In AUD, how much does the average life coach get paid? I attend a highly academic high school, so my family wouldnt be entirely open to the idea of becoming a "Life Coach".
@David William my score was 7 out of 7. I really was blown away, just maybe about a week ago I really started seriously thinking about becoming a life coach. Landed on this video, took the test and my mouth dropped. Thank you for posting it.

Great, I got 7 out of 7, David!
1) How do I go from being unemployed to being...employed enough to start coaching?
2) What do you do when a client isn't going well?

I have the same question as cmurder816. My life is a mess how can I help others when I can't even help myself. I also scored 7

Okay, I got 7 out of 7. But in the present moment I'm the one who needs a life coach. How can I coach someone else?

6 out of 7 for me....
my #1 question about coaching is "what is the best way to discover your coaching niche?"
Thanks for the video!

@DaneeneRusnak Follow what you are passionate about and then research to see if people will pay for that kind of coaching

@Scinery Training people in the media is one idea, another just your coaching/listening skills are useful for interviewing

Another great video David and I must agree people really do underestimate the power of business cards these days.
