Killer Bees, like all Bees are harmless unless provoked, and their venom is no more potant then a normal honeybee. The whole reason Africanized Bees are nicknamed Killer Bees is because of how aggressivly they defend their nests and they attack in greater numbers and will persue you for a longer distance then normal bees. If you want someone to blame for why they're in the Southwest blame the Beekeeper in Brazil who let the original 26 African Queen Bees escape from the lab where they were kept

@nerf4555 Well these were Africanized bees, the ones you saw were European bees which are less aggressive than their african cousins. My guess is Africanized honey bees would put up a better fight than European ones but the most dangerous honey bee would be the Apis Dorsata. Also the Hornet has to be a Giant Hornet is because I think normal sized hornets we see here in America would probably not stand a chance against 30,000 bees let alone africanized ones.

Bees are amazing creatures, people need to get educated on them more and realize that this sort of thing happens only a few times in a year, bees are typically really peaceful creatures and wont bother you if they dont bother them.
