18hours audio, 8 hours video, and for a screen this size 8 hours is awesome. The O2 has flopped a bit, if you want an easy setup I'd avoid it if I were you, but that's just me.

people please shut up. This is nothing like an ipod touch or an iphone. touches are mini browsers with video and music capabilities and some cool apps, and the O2 is a full fledged media player (what kind of crappy video player doesn't support AVI?) The O2 supports AVI, MP4 and more

i'm starting to hate apple fanatics(not fans) anything that has a touchscreen is either an ipod or a iphone they're acting like apple invented the touchscreens. this is a nice device and i like the big screen size. i'm curious about the audio quality of the player.

eonlockz it's just because Apple are greedy, Sony had sensme before apple had genius, they had flicking before apple had shaking, and most phone companies were going to have multi-touch before apple decided they needed something to make their product sell, so they patented it.

yea but sony doesnt have the enormous screen that cowon has, nor the large capacity of the harddisk. I'm not saying that sony's not good it's just that cowon seems to be the Heavy Tanks while sony's like Special forces... Get it? They have almost the same capabilities but somehow the size is not the same... and are aimed at different aspects of audio and video entertainment.

I sort of agree. iRiver are also up there for sound quality, especially with the Spinn, but they're being held back by not going past 8GB. The AMOLED on the Spinn is incredible. If they could put more memory in then the Spinn would beat the iPod touch in every category.

£200 for 16GB, £240 for 32GB. Much, much better than an iPod touch. more file support, better memory expansion, better sound quality, better screen (trust me, the numbers lie), raw file support...

I can hardly believe that this has a better screen than the iPod Touch. Unless its made of something stronger than the Touch's screen, its not better. Sound quality? Its called nice headphones. OS and compatibility...can the O2 run Linux? I think not. Can you jailbreak an O2? Nope. Just gotta deal with the fact that Apple is a super power :D

Can hardly believe that the screen is better than the iPod Touch? It's as simple as advancement in technology. Nice headphones do make a difference, but not by much when the iPod Touch is being powered by a 5 year old sound chip.

girl258, AMOLED is about 50 times better than LCD, the only reason apple haven't taken it up is a) they'd have to accept that they were wrong, b) LCD is cheaper. Apple is a superpower, yes, but that doesn't means it'd s better. The screen is bigger, brighter, more colourful, higher fps and more capable than the ipod touch, so in what way is the touch's better? Ok, the screens better, but I meant just the outside glass electrostatic screen thingy. This seems like a touch screen device but I do not believe its glass, nor is it multitouch. Interface wise, the O2 wouldn't be nearly my favorite choice. And bigger isn't a bad thing, only when it some in conflict with portability and practicality.

If it conflicts with practicality you'd get an S9. Which is better than the ipod touch, in pretty much every way. The only possible advantages are the gimmicky genius feature and the wifi, which, in the age of smartphones, isn't necessary, and is scarcely available where a laptop isn't nearby.

I still don't see how its better in every way. The touchscreen is haptic, which puts it in a category of its own. Really, though, does the S9 have an AppStore? No. Is it jailbreakable? No. Can it run Linux? No.

Linus doesn't matter, it's your fault if you use it. You don't need to jailbreak it, because it isn't full to the brim with DRM and copyright management from apple, and there is an app store, it just happens to be free and you can make them yourself, unlike on the touch, where you have to dodge apple's protection software for every step in the app.

The purpose of the jailbreak isn't to avoid DRM. Its to basically just modify it, and yet, it is not illegal in anyway shape or form, so it does not conflict with copyright. The AppStore is very useful; there is no way there are going to be that many developers for the S9, and I don't think there will be that many possibilities. Anyway, with the jailbreak you can get any AppStore application for free, so that's a major plus for me. And yes, you can make apps yourself. Its simple & free.

Jailbreaking is not endorsed by apple, and, though it may help now, there is no guarantee that jailbroken players will not be screwed up by future firmware updates. You're right, there aren't as many developers for the S9, but Cowon release apps for free with the firmware, and apps are much easier to make well on the S9 than the touch because of how the S9's cpu works. + the S9 is way quicker than the touch

Ok, the jailbroken Touch's will never be bricked for any sort of reason, especially by a measly firmware update. Most people who own jailbroken devices are smart enough not to upgrade immediately. And, I said jailbreaking is not illegal. I just stated that I get cracked apps. And, the S9 is not quicker. 500mhz<532mhz. I would find that my Touch is better quality than the S9 by far. There's no arguing there.

There are people who've made programs that make it easy for anyone to make an app.

i agree with u that the touch is ways better looking than a cowon 02 or d2 ,also its easy to use but the reason why i prefer buying a d2 are the possibilities to change almost everything in design,the in my opinion great file navigation,also the sd-slot ,ur not forced to use iTunes ,ur getting more for ur money...ok thats all i can think of now.

if the d2 would be thinner,had a better design and have internet it would be perfect
