there seem to be enough craig ferguson fans who are complete jerks, wrecking my craig experience with their hostile, stupid comments, to put me off watching the show altogether.

@Meilin678 I like Craig a lot. Very funny talk show host and he does remind me a lot of Regis. His producer Peter Lassally (who was Carson and Letterman's producer) liked the interviews Craig did during his audition in 2004 and I would venture to say that very likely got him the job. I read his memoir too American On Purpose it is a very insightful book on this American dream success story.
The moer I watch this man, the more I admire him.
