Aha, JUST as I check these comments for the first time in so long, San! Suggest me a song of his and it's as good as done. Except "Loving You". I've tried, haha.
GNR and The Cranberries. Two of the best bands ever! Nice. Personally, I think Axl totally screwed up Yesterdays. Good lyrics, but his wet rat voice doesn't quite match the emotion of the song. Don't get me wrong, I love his singing in other songs, but... I think you could make it 10 times better if you redid it your way. :)
i think you should re-make yesterdays or the garden , i think your voice would really suite one of those songs, cas ur voice is one of the only ones ive heard that isnt an axl immitation and it still suites the songs, which is pretty hard to do, id really apriciate it, dont mind my spelling. im a punk i have an I.q. of like 15 haha, but thanks. cheers
i agree that autumn's monologue would be gorgeous by you. also, anything by alanis, fiona apple, sheryl crow, tori amos. you should look up ani difranco as well, i think you'd do her style a loooot of justice. you have a gorgeous voice : ]
1st off, you're voice is beautiful and so are you.love gnr so don't cry, patience, yesterday etc... also refugee would be great, tom petty. nothing else matters, metallica.both of which, as i'm sure u know, were redone by females. hurt or anything cool by cheryl crow, my second favorite female singer, you being the 1st. i'm sure you get that alot, but if you get a second i'd love to hear your comments to my suggestions. anything you do will sound great though
Sing Stairway to Heaven by led zeppelin, it should be wonderful, or Nothing else matters by Metallica OR Hey You by Pink Floyd! There are so many more but these I think you should really concider, I've listend to previous works and these are really fit for you, (I hope you know them)
As a musician/songwriter myself - I vote you do some Neil Young. Not 'Heart of Gold' or 'Ohio' but something like 'The Needle and the Damage Done'. The mental image contrast between a haggard, ragged old Neil Young and...well...you...would be quite interesting.
Hi! Your videos are awesome! Do you think you can do a cover of "The Down town" or "Shelf in the Room" by Days of the New?? It would be awesome if you did that!
can you try the song " Linger " by the Cranberrys i know by listening to your stuff you could pull it off.. if you need the song gimmie your e mail addy and ill send you attachment .. jamie
Beautiful girl,,,Why dont you stun the globe(your already stunning) and finish them off with Sinéad O'Connor - Troy or any-thing from the lion and the cobra....Love your work,..!!!
As I've said in your "ZOMBIE" cover; I think you should concentrate on your own material! That said; Do you write songs? If not you should try & find someone who writes songs. I'm sure there would be people who would work with you, as you are very talented.
Would a Canadian know about Kate & Adele? Not being sarcastic, it's a genuine question! Have they released stuff over there yet? If she's heard of Adele, then I agree with you; that is a good song!
Our music isn't confined to nothing but Canadians, you know. Haha I know both Kate Nash and Adele, I have actually recently covered an Adele song. Not recorded, though.
HA! HA! Yes I know Canadians aren't confined to Canadians. LOL It's just that those artist have only recently made it into the mainstream in England. And, I wouldn't have thought Canadians/Americans would like that kinda stuff; As it's really English music; They've got really cockney accent; Can you even tell what they're saying? LOL.
Accents really aren't that hard to figure out, especially when I speak to Brits quite often anyways. Haha. About 70% of the artists that I listen to are "imports".
Steve Nicks has wider range but I think you could pull off somthing like Dreams. Also if you ever want to rock it out try some of the Pretenders stuff in fact you remind me of a young Krissie Hynde By the way, the Zombie is quite well done. Goth effects way cool. Keep at it as you have tallent. Go Girl.
ok you have perhaps a 2 or 3 octive range and good control, you can likly sing all of the great Joni Mitchell stuff like Both sides Now. The changes are simple and there are only 3 major chords.
hey do the widows in paradise by sufjan stevens. its another super simple piece like zombie but just a really awesome song. there's alot of dudes that have covered it but like only a couple chicks and I wanna hear someone who can actually sing try it.
holy crap I think I love you :D haha j/k ....Love the AFD poster in the background! ;D ...And I think you should give BLACK by Pearl Jam and CHANGE by Blind Melon a try...I think you would do great. =)
i was checkin out your songs on myspace.. you still write?

Here are my suggestions...
-What's up by 4 Non Blondes
-Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor
-Don't Speak by No Doubt
Notice how these are all 90's songs, what can I say I'm going through this 90's phase and it won't go away...
So yeah it'd be really cool if you tried singin' 1 of these songs...

A song you wrote, Miss "pretty tied up" Danica.
Go on.
MattDIskEyes 4 years ago
Hi Danica, what about "Mad World" (Gary Jules version)? I capo it up 1 fret, but with your range you could probably go to 3rd fret.
The verse is: Em, G, D, A
The chorus: Em, A, Em, A, (etc.) till the last 2 lines (Mad World... Mad World....) Em, A7.
Anyway, just a suggestion.
Take care -Greg-
