  • Recorded on August 9, 1928. As for Jolson "writing" the song (or helping to write it), he did no such thing. He always "cut himself in" on composing credits for songs he personally introduced, promising composers- like Billy Rose and Dave Dreyer, in this instance- that he'd make their song a "guaranteed" hit if he got a piece of the action. And Al was usually right!
