He always "cut himself in" on composing credits for songs he personally introduced, promising composers- like Billy Rose and Dave Dreyer, in this instance- that he'd make their song a "guaranteed" hit if he got a piece of the action. And Al was usually right!

I am almost sure that I have an AUDIO of JOLSON saying he wrote "Rainbow Round my Shoulder in 1928"
but dont quote me on that.
