  • I wish they added the BING places to the checkin option under the me tile... Now it uses a list from facebook... It's far from complete and i am unable to add a new place ... I guess because i dont have facebook ... Really dissapointed that windows forces me on facebook just to enjoy all the phone features... I am just fine just having a windows live account.. :( Facebook sucks!

  • "Windows Phone 7" sounds weird..

  • I am on my second Samsung Focus. It stopped working after 24 hours... Yippee, yahoo, hooray, it is a big piece of excrement!

  • do you need data to use bing maps? is it like the nokia maps where you can use them offline?

  • I wonder if the turn-bu-turn has the option of voice turn-bu-turn. When driving, you don't want to look at your phone.

  • What's his name?

  • windows phone suck!!!!!!!!!!! android all the way

  • That is one... ugly... phone...

  • It's not called Bings Map. Thanks Pockets Nows.

  • "You can see nearby pharmacies to your location, and you can see nearby places to the pharmacy selected close to your location..." One word: INCEPTION.

  • do you have to pay a monthly fee or something for using this app? Or can you use it without worrying about fees?

  • @vietdragon26 free

  • sorry but the navigation isnt "really cool" even with the update it isnt. it works tho

  • hi, does anyone know whether bing maps will still work if u dont subscribe to a data plan?

  • @deside94 Yes. However, you'd need WiFi. Whether you can find a free, public WiFi connection depends on where you are. It typically isn't much good traveling, unless you are going to continually stop at Starbucks or something along the way. WiFi (plus GPS) really chews through the battery life also.

  • hi, does anyone know whether bing maps will still work if u dont subscribe to a data plan?

  • thumbs up if you are getting a windows 7 phone

  • @TheExtremeboarder In time... must have... patience! lol I'm gonna get mine in like a year and a half

  • @TheExtremeboarder probably...

  • @TheExtremeboarder thumbs up if u have 1 !!!

  • @TheExtremeboarder we will

  • funny voice xD

  • i have a Omnia 7 in australia i dont have voice command for maps and when it gives directions i cant get it to go full screen WTF

  • anti google... -_-

  • There's no navigation in this video - only directions - and I haven't seen navigation mentioned any where else. Hope it's introduced pretty quickly - also multitasking.

  • Windows have got to include voice guided turn by turn navigation. Nokia and Android have free GPS solutions, and if Microsoft want Bing maps to be taken seriously, they must dothe same. Otherwise it looks nice.

  • @cirkusarena

the current bing map application on windows mobiles phones, out today, do have voice guided navigation. If they leave that off in WP7, that'll be pretty dumb.

  • magic of silverlight

  • Will Sprint have a WP7?

  • @geowebforum Not in 2010. CDMA support isn't until 2011.

  • @ravinshrestha Yeah by then Iphone and Android will be ready for LTE ......

  • @geowebforum IM WAITING TOO THE HTC 7 PRO TO SPRINT, UNTIL 2011 :(

  • hi, does anyone know if external softwares other than from apps store can be added to the wp7 via pc (cd software). thanks

  • Microsoft has no chance against Google !I!

  • @DylanTalks Right ......

That's exactly what they were saying when Google a year ago bragged about how their Wave was gonna defeat Microsoft. What about now?

  • @DylanTalks

I'm buying one for sure though.

  • This is pretty cool. I really like the animations when you did the search. Windows Phone 7 is very impressive.

  • Oh ... SO DAMN LOVELY ...

  • This is pretty cool and the transitions are are soo smooth, can't wait for November I'm not even eligible for an upgrade I'm just going to buy one...just need to know what phones are going to be on the verizon network.

  • before i was android all the way. but now i don't know whether i should get wp7 or android. ahh! too many choices. hah.

  • @ShelloSheep I am in the same place mate :) confused on which one to get. wp7 or android

  • @kleb100

just think...HTC...HD7...and the decision should be easy :)

  • I just hope that one day Bing maps will have public transportation. And maybe even air and train travel. I mean it would be cool for it to give me a list of possible airplanes and train I could take along with prices to make it easier to plan a trip. especially if i need to go across the country to a city that is a bit away from an airport but does have a train station.

Also, what about if it could give me a list of taxi's I could call too, right from the maps section, that would be so cool

  • thanks ;DD

  • Hey there is Dover! Remember the Dover trial of intelligent design? :)

  • I AM LOVING MICROSOFT'S NEW COMPLETELY OPTIMIZED OS! Everything is so smooth! Love the transitions! There are absolutely no hiccups!

  • Queue VZW KILLING the GPS on ALL new WP7 devices.

  • @IgnitionUnlimited They dont kill the GPS on Android .....

  • @tynitty516 That's because Verizon is afraid of Google. Verizon is not afraid of Microsoft. Remember the Touch Pro's GPS? Yeah, I thought so! :-P

  • Microsoft should totally be paying you for these videos....

  • Does this thing work in Iraq. Cuz we are looking for oil, but can't find any. THNX.

  • Does Bing Maps work in Barbados?

  • @KidBajan,

Yes. In facty you can look up Barbados on Bing maps in your browser, to see how it looks.

  • what is the maximum number of tiles on the home screen?

  • I wouldn't call those flags or labels.

I'd call those floating Nevadas. =P

Super excited for this! The only problem with this is being able to afford an unlimited data service so I can use it all the time. =[

  • @halfingr

Isn't a data plan in the US around $40.

  • @KidBajan Yeah, but thats still a lot of money...

  • @KidBajan There are new plans coming out for different company's, an average cost for a data plan is $30 bucks, then there is also another plan which usually comes to around $15 but that has a limited amount of data you can use.

  • @KidBajan I dunno. I've never had a data plan, nor has anybody in my family. So, I dunno.

I'm still pretty broke though. =P

  • @KidBajan T-Mobile unlimited 3G is only $30 a month.

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY

    Well I was close.

  • Excellent video as always Brandon

  • Great job again Brandon. Keep these videos coming! I love WIndows Phone 7's unique angle on all the classic smartphone functions.

  • I THINK WP7 WILL BEAT IOS 4 AND ANDRIOD

  • @q8m302 It uses Bing....

  • @q8m302 wp7 already did it :P :D

  • @q8m302 shit hit the wrong button... fk.. :( WP7 OWNS!! =D

  • @q8m302 wp7 sux ;) wm 6.5 is best!

  • @q8m302 agree

  • @q8m302 = you were thinking ahead of the herd... analysts now stating that.... 2015 Windows will be #1

  • @q8m302 still think so? XDDD

  • Bing Maps for WP7 will have Voice Navigation. Just like Brandon said, this isn't the final version of Bing Maps for WP7. BTW, I love how fast, clean and smooth it operates, compared to the current version for WM6.5. Suck it Google!

  • @pocketnowvideo Thank you so much for uploading all these detailed WP7 videos! When the first phones come out, I'll directly know how to use them. :-D

  • I never thought Google maps on the iPhone could be beat. It's been beat. This rocks. Turn-by-turn voice directions would make it perfect.

  • Impressive how deep and how great Bing and the Bing services (like maps) is integrated into the OS...

  • I hope WP7 has Mac support!

  • @ChattMapple Yes, that is something i also hope...it would be very nice when i do not need to boot up my desktop because my MacBook is running all the time...

  • windows phone 7's would be pretty much genius, if there were some... at least.. lets say three tabs on your desktop (which is missing too)... putting all this stuff to the "square menu" is not a good way to go imo

  • Microsoft is doing such a good job with their new OS but I`m still deciding if I like the UI or not... It just feels weird to me...

BTW, this really needs navigation or it will be steps behind the competition.

  • @stevegaron1 It will be on its way i'd say. Windows Mobile 6.5 just got it.

  • best map software ever? MY BRAIN of coures!!! =D =D =D just kidding... no bing and google are great =P

  • Google maps > Bing Maps...

  • first .

    google maps is better

  • @liomessibarca10

did you even saw the whole video, since u where first?

  • @PyroWareNL i saw it all and google maps for android is better with places and latitude and navigation! <---- in street view!
