no big deal, blizzard restores everything. My account got hacked by a chinese farmer. I complained to blizzard through a GM who gave me instructions to follow on the website. My account was restored to me 2 weeks later as it was when i lost it with one minor difference: The chinese farmer had maxed all my slots, bags and bank, with titanium bars which blizzard let me keep. I sold most of it and walked away with 70,000K+ gold. I recommend getting hacked as often as possible.

No there wasnt an item restore function - but I had my gear returned to me on 2 seperate occasion during vanilla when my guild was raiding MC and I accidentally sold some gear. - I know for a fact that GMs restored player gear when there accounts were hacked, it just took a different route, through convos with GMs rather than the much more streamlined support ticket system they have now.

By the way, this happened to me. Except my account was banned for no reason and my healer was naked. I proceeded to call blizzard customer support and told them that I didnt even have a subscription that month that the hacker logged on my account and had started wow up again when my bf got a new job. They got my items back to me within seconds, life wasnt destroyed at all. I actually gained more then i had lost, cause the hacker worked my mining up for me to max. ^^
