@gotina12 Its also the problem with some 'white' singers. Anyone who's ever watched one episode of x-Faxtor or American Idol can see singers who add "useless embellishments". Lauryn has one of the most soulful and beautiful voices of her generation and this song was one of the biggest hits of its era so regardless of whether you think she over embellished her vocal performance, many people, including myself, consider it a classic vocal performance.
