This is yet another reason why you just get a sling and tie an overhand knot in it and use that.

or... just get a Metolius PAS or Blue water titan loop chain and be comfortable in the fact that EVERY SINGLE LOOP is 20KN shock rated :)

just do what everybody does and just clip into the loop. only one carabiner needed and still stays attached full strength if the tacking rips.
