BRO...Heres your Song...1 more time....It reminds me of u so much..I Love you little Brother....In Memory of Antonio (Tony) Ortega......rip....yOU'LL NEVER BE 4GOTTEN...
Thank You my brave friends! I will always remember why I can live free, and so will those whom you have made freedom possible for in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't care what these people say back here or anywhere for that matter about being the world's policeman, they are only saying they don't care about their brothers and sisters everywhere. Since america is mad of everyone we have a right to fight for anyone whose freedom is threatened or denied. You guys and gals are my heros and God's, T.Y!
This isnt about war at all, its about a movie. an orphaned older brother carrying his younger brother to father flannigan, his american orphanage called BoysTown. Mickey Rooney was in it.When the boys arrived at boystown, the older brother was asked..your brother must be heavy..he replied by saying he aint heavy, he's my brother. But it does fit with war as well, the innocent casualties of war, children that become orphans.
I just want to say i have served in Afghanistan. I am a member of Her Majesties Royal Marines 45 COMMANDO. i HAVE DONE 2 TOURS EACH 8 MONTHS LONG in that time i have seen many a bad thing. I have seen suffering but also the good we have battled for, not just by us but the U.S forces also, and the rest, thanks for this song it REALLY TOUCHES ME as we are all brothers in the fight against terror
my uncle just watched three friends in a plane being blown up die two weeks ago and wont even talk to me cause he is so upset! like if u think shis is sad
I am Australian, I have not seen a more moving presentation. God Bless your men in the shit hole over there and to our guys, of whom I have friends, a safe passage home to see your families. You guys are making an extraordinary sacrifice to enable our security. Cheers lads.
God Bless the men & woman who protect us i have nothing but respect for all of you & thank you & my heart goes out to any one with a hole in there life's & heart for the loss of someone they loved who they lost ...
This song is for the people who died on 9/11 ten year ago and the soldier who are still fighting for nothing still. None these politicians no nothing about humanity, but their selfishness of keeping them there. All politicans are totally disgusting we nothing but bad luck for this country for the last 10 years. Its time for the people stand up and unite and fight and get them out of office here is our chance.
Was in the A/4/325/82nd back in the 90s but never served in combat. Truly appreciate those who served and gave all. May God bless you and your family.
how can any one dislike this video havnt they got a heart i love the son and the video R.I.P to all of u that gave your life for the country may odin protect you all
May this song go out to all the heroic soldiers who are risking there lives to protect their country, family and friends!! We are all thinking about you guys and we are forever in your debt, keep safe!
"AMERICA is fighting for her very SOUL!" Our MEN and WOMEN are dying all over the world to give others the same rights that we have and this so called, democracy and freedom from their oppressors...while "POLITICIANS" back here, are trying to divide us and strip us of those very same rights that men and women here have already fought and died for. "WAKE UP AMERICA."
I have one buddy heading home (to Aussie) next month (we hope) from Afghanistan after a 9 month tour.... he has lost friends there, and friends with bits missing :( he did the last two readings at the funerals of the last 2 men lost there as well:( so much lost :(
Great song and good video but the pictures don't reflect the picture. I'm from Ireland and can only imagian the heart break of the family's that had to pick the peices up. Peace!!!
OnewOera respect 2 u nd your family it's such a brave thing 2 do nd i know i couldn't do it i don't agree with fightin 4 other countries but i gotta respect every livin soldier navy man and any1 nd every1 finghtin a war 4 freedom luv nd respect 2 u all nd the lovec 1's u've all lost peace b with u nd eternal gratitude xx
Great tribute to our soldiers who are fighting for our God given liberty and the liberty of others. Our society is falling to what we want rather than what we need. My God bless our soldiers and bring them home safely. This song is for all our brothers.
Sorry to disillusion you all, but the Afghans are not our enemies, and they didn't want us there. They just wanted the weapons to kick out the Russians, then the warlords. It's the US that encouraged Osama Bin Laden, and HE who hijacked the whole country to make it into his own personal kingdom. God bless each man and woman who went there, but they did it--unknowingly and unwittingly buying into the myth that we were doing it for the Afghans. Bush and Cheney should be tried as war criminals.
RE: Shingazer's Post - This song was written by Bobby Scott & Bob Russell (who was dying of cancer at the time of the writing) and takes its title from Boystown; it has nothing to do with Viet Nam. This video is an excellent application of the song and is honoring of our Iraq/Afghanistan soldiers and those special people who served in Viet Nam...thank you all. American Compassion, not brutality!
Heroe is a persona killing inocent people just for goods?
ghandi is a heroe, superman is a hero, most of these guys are just assassins, and im not saying is their fault, im not saying they're bad people but man they're forced to do some heavy shit that like it or not are destroying the humanity.
@ Shinganzer; Just to clarify, that sentence "he ain't heavy, he's my brother" could have come from the Civil war for all we know. It's Origin unknown but definitely from 18 hundreds. Was used a lot because of how you reinterpret the first part after reading the second, "he's my brother"
Terorism is the war of the poor and powerless. War is the terrorism of the rich and powerful. (I realize this is a paraphrazed quote, yet the gist of the statement hits the mark.). Funny how we lose perspective given circumstance no matter party affiliation... Eh? Support OUR Troops. Government idealism be damned!
@BeverleyBrown i wont prey im not religous but i will tell my child that such a man exists and that he is a true hero i will tell him of the bravery and the honour such men hold within there hearts and i will tell him of all they give so that he may live and if he ever asks how our soldiers die my reply will always be i will tell you how they lived, i just wish i cud be the one who carrys them for a change and id never be laden
pray for all of those that protect our freedom each and every day. They are in harm's way so that we can bitch about the little things....it's called America....and the right to the prusuit of happiness......even though it comes with a vast amount of saddness....my brother fought in the Gulf War...and lost his life to what he contracted there...I shall alway cherish his payment to this nation, and the debt I owe. Long Live our nation, our freedom
God bless all our soldiers! Do you guys know the back story behind this song..I could be wrong but what I heard was there were 2 brothers (little kids) lost in a snow storm. They walked around lost for a few days and when rescuers finally found them the little brother was carrying his older brother and the chorus line was the little boy's response when they had asked him " wasn't or Isn't he too heavy for you to carry him?"... Idk correct me if I'm wrong that's just what I heard...
Beautiful slideshow and song choice Kristie! Thank you so much for taking time to put this together and posting it here for everyone to view, reflect on and be thankful for the sacrifices being made by so many that have served, are currently serving and their families. This is an awesome tribute.
I lost my my brother at age 42 and i miss him more than words can say, he passed away too soon so to all with family take the time to tell them you care for one day they will be gone from you ... this was always a song for families and loved ones to me anyway
my brother is battling stage 3 lung cancer and I have been there even when it was unbearable to watch. He is scheduled to get his lung removed in 3 wks, please offer a prayer up for him.
"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"; variations on the phrase are attested as early as 1884.[4] The phrase is also associated with Father Edward J. Flanagan, the founder of Boys Town. Flanagan came across a line drawing of a young boy carrying his brother in the Christmas 1941
It seems that there are so many people we need to remember and pray for....At the very least we can be thankful for them and their attitude, effort and work and celebrate and practice our appreciation to them in our words and actions to each other in whatever country, environment and situation that we find ourselves in....Our soliders do not make sacrifices for us to hate and distrust one another but for us to take freedom to its highest level of love, wisdom and compassion..........
In an 1918 publication by Ralph Waldo Trine titled "The Higher Powers of Mind and Spirit" he relates the following anecdote: "Do you know that incident in connection with the little Scottish girl? She was trudging along, carrying as best she could a boy younger, but it seemed almost as big as she herself, when one remarked to her how heavy he must be for her to carry, when instantly came the reply: 'He's na heavy. He's mi brither.'"
Please pray for all of our "heroes"; this includes their spouses, children, mothers', fathers, sisters, brothers and all friends; those who love these brave men and women, alone allow us to catapult them to a higher level!
bro..get back soon..mom and dad r waiting.. for our dinner before get cold..after that we'll play Wii..bro i miss you..i miss you bro..really..nobody can replacing my own blood..
Shinganzer: the wonderful thing about the Internet is the ability to quickly check claims that seem questionable.
search for the phrase and you'll find it became associated with Father Flanagan's Boys Town around the 1940's, although the phrase predates its use by that organization by several decades.
LUKE FARMER I MISS U SOO MUCHH MAYTEE.. U R THE TRUE AND NEVER FORGOTOEN HERO OF SESKU... YOU MADE UZ PROUD MATE SERVIN IN AFGAN... NEVER TO BE FORGOT UPTONS TRUE HERO LUKE FARMER LOVE YOU MAYTEE X
Shinganzer. The song is about an AMERICAN soldier in Vietnam carrying his wounded brother out of the battlefield. Based on a true story. Get your facts straight.
There is one place in this world that does give their lives for others to have a better one, and that is the United States. Our founders' had this notion in their minds when they designed the constitution. America the beautiful is not just a slogan, it's what our founders wanted it to be. A place that helps others to be free. Sometimes we have a few greedy politicians that loose sight of this notion, but our soldiers never do. When they look into a foreign child eyes they see their child.
@BeverleyBrown1 Sgt. Gary has been in my prayers. I hope he is assimilating into life with the changes and the horror of war is a fading memory. God be with you during this time of sorrow.
All U S Citizens should take 4 mins and 26 seconds each day to watch this. I fear we have been desensitized to the casualties of war and how it has become a business.
Think about them my brothers and sisters, and pray for them. Watch and listen to this video for inspiration. May God in His fullness protect them, Amen.
Yeah War Sucks!! But you know what sucks even more! Innocent people living with the horror of the likes of Adolph Hitler, The Taliban, Chairman Mao, Joseph Stalin, to name a few Monsters!. Our Soldiers can be proud that they helped take down the monsters of the past and the ones they are fighting against now! The Hollies "He Ain't Heavy" is a beautiful tribute to our Soldiers in Uniform who have given so much, that people can live without tyranny! The Stars and Stripes
A truly beautiful video and tribute to our solders in the service. Always keep them in our thoughts and prayers and not forget what they are and have done for our country.
Please pray for my brother Loren he returned from Afganastan only to end up in the VA with Leukemia.. he is there now thankyou from my heart. God Bless!... His sister Anne
Outstanding video, so many have given their lives for freedom. I just lost my youngest brother, he was a Vietnam Veteran. He was Air Force, I was a Marine.
thankyou so much this is beautiful I dedicated it to my brother Loren who just got back from Ahfganastan and is in the hospital with acute leukemia. Please pray for his healing and chemo treatment. Thankyou big sis Anne
God bless our troops forever and always.....they are the reason we continue to live with freedom and their bravery is is astounding.....God bless all of them and their families past and present..
GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN ... THAN TO LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR A FRIEND...WOULD U LAY DOWN UR LIFE FOR A STRANGER... THE PRICE OF FREEDOM DOES NOT COME FREE...DONT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED...MARTIN LUTHER KING
As a Vietnam era vet and a father of a son currently in Kandelhar with the 2nd Reg Cav, I know this song and the love of brother comrade of arms....There is no bond stronger. Bless the troops and on this July 4th, God Bless America
omg ive just been selly oak n my son as been lucky theres been lads there wat werent so lucky it is so destressing fetch the lads home no more deaths at least ive got my son home
I was prepared to be saddened, but tears kept streaming down.....No time to grab a tissue. Beautiful video! A perfect Memorial Day tribute. I'll be sharing this one.
This song was played while me and fellow brothers carried our departed brother into the church, the bruises on my shoulders count for nothing, because he aint heavy he's my brother. RIP Danny x
"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother: The phrase is associated with Father Edward J. Flanagan, the founder of Boys Town, which use to be a Catholic orphanage. Flanagan came across a young boy carrying his brother near Christmastime, 1941. Flanagan asked him if he needed help, and the boy answered "He ain't heavy, Father . . . he's my brother." Not sure where the Vietnamese girl thing came from?
Peace will happen when the people of the world decide to make it that way despite efforts by world governments and central banks to start wars over dumb things and false beliefs.

Shinganzer: the wonderful thing about the Internet is the ability to quickly check claims that seem questionable.
search for the phrase and you'll find it became associated with Father Flanagan's Boys Town around the 1940's, although the phrase predates its use by that organization by several decades.

Peace.

This song was played while me and fellow brothers carried our departed brother into the church, the bruises on my shoulders count for nothing, because he aint heavy he's my brother. RIP Danny x
chriso851 1 year ago
"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother: The phrase is associated with Father Edward J. Flanagan, the founder of Boys Town, which use to be a Catholic orphanage. Flanagan came across a young boy carrying his brother near Christmastime, 1941. Flanagan asked him if he needed help, and the boy answered "He ain't heavy, Father . . . he's my brother." Not sure where the Vietnamese girl thing came from?
